Amazing. I need to come back and try from the other side. The trail I took from the top was the wrong one and I ended up in private land so I had to turn around and come back before I reach the bottom. My goal is to run it from one side to the top down to the other side and then reverse course all the way back to the beginning and I think that would be a really cool run. So this was just a trial run and next time I’ll start from the far side so I will be sure to know what the proper trail is going both ways starting from the west side. It is really obvious what the trail is and I’m hoping it’s the same way starting from the other side but all Trail seems to show that it only goes about halfway up. We’ll see, but that is a task for another day. Either way, come out and hike this trail amazing views from the top. The winds were probably 30 to 40 miles an hour at the top so hopefully when you do this Trail, it will be a little bit calmer day but the views from the top are amazing and hopefully my video will show that. Lots of parking and restroom at the bottom. $5 per day or spend 40 to get all of the trailheads in the...
Read moreSuch a beautiful view at the top. This was my first hike for the summer and let me just say what a work out! I haven't been exercising recently, and having to go up so many steps took a toll on my legs, but thats fine by me! Need to tone them up. Very popular with dogs and children. The children are beasts(as in I admire their stamina) they were running up the whole thing and I wish I still had that energy haha, definitely a go to location. You'll see a glacier out in the distance (not sure which one) and overall a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Lastly the trail is very well managed. If you happen to park on the other side of the hill, you'll be met with a very steep incline in soft soft sand. So make sure your glutes are ready and you have...
Read moreBODENBURG BUTTE. Amazing "Fall season" walking trail. The stairs are a serious workout going up. Once up at the top, it became apparent that there are two ways (maybe more)up the mountain. THE BUTTE We went up the rough terrain. Let me just say you don't want to be caught in the rain going up or down. The dirt becomes extremely dangerous. Definitely take hiking sticks. Oh yeah, there is a green plant which I cannot find the name of (maybe it was just my children who have allergies) but two of my kids got a serious reaction, irritation, redness, raised bumps, and some swelling (which I will be uploading photos) just by a slight graze. They are fine now. The reaction lasted a good...
