2023.06.27 - Houston, TX visitor. It was an intimate experience because it was not really big. Nice to know this zoo is a rehabilitation zoo. Took about 2 hours to tour this rainy day. Perhaps more identification of the zoo being a rehabilitation zoo. We enjoyed reading all about the animals there and how they got there. The entrance fee is still cheaper than a movie.

We went for my son's birthday. He wanted to see Alaska animals. I know that if you live in Alaksa long enough you will probably see most of the animals that we saw in the zoo, but for a new to Alaksa family it was a real treat to see moose 🫎, caribou, polar 🐻‍❄ bears, and many other native creatures. We spent about 2 hours here.

It was cold nice to see Amur the tiger roaring and the brown bear checking out things to eat. The sealion and the otters were very playful. The snow lepards and the wolfs were just laying around. The caribou, moose, and yak were enjoying some greens. The eagle let out some sounds. The ravens were face to face looking at each other. The polar bear was wondering around the back of his enclosure. Otherwise, think the children all...

Pleasantly surprised. Very nice zoo, for a city the size of Anchorage, which I believe is below 300,000. Nice variety of animals, many of which were active, today. Friendly staff. Only downside tor me was the uneven gravel paths. Restroom was rather smelly. Café was a good place to atop; you should let folks know it exists, when they get their admission tickets. Worth checking...

Very small zoo, start to finish in around an hour.

Several displays and exhibits are empty, which when it’s this small, is slightly frustrating.

It is relatively cheap though, and was a decent way to spend some time outside the bustle of the city events.

The stories behind how many of the animals got to the zoo were interesting.

Would probably do a 3.5 rating if I could...
