It was cold nice to see Amur the tiger roaring and the brown bear checking out things to eat. The sealion and the otters were very playful. The snow lepards and the wolfs were just laying around. Read morePleasantly surprised. Very nice zoo, for a city the size of Anchorage, which I believe is below 300,000. Nice variety of animals,many of which were active, today. Friendly staff. Only downside tor me was the uneven gravel paths. Restroom was rather smelly. Café was a good place to atop; you should let folks know it exists, when they get their admission tickets. Worth checking...

Several displays and exhibits are empty, which when it’s this small, is slightly frustrating.
It is relatively cheap though, and was a decent way to spend some time outside the bustle of the city events.
The stories behind how many of the animals got to the zoo were interesting.
