Driving up this place looks dry and not too special but once you reach the parking lot, you can see all the lush green grass and trees. This is a nice, cool park to relax or have fun. Appears to be pretty safe, families come here to spend time together. You typically see elementary and middle-school aged kids here playing basketball, playing games with friends, having a good time. LBJ middle school close-by. There’s a nice duck pond with fountain across from the playground. The playground itself is in great condition and appears to be fairly new. Only thing I would ask is for slides that do not get so hot in the sun for the kiddos. Signage for Petroglyph Little league baseball, now serving Village Pizza (Yum). Glad to see the concessions area being utilized. There’s a big grassy field, trails for biking, running, walking etc., with changes in elevation which makes for a pretty good workout. This park has bathrooms which is a plus. Friendly staff working diligently to clean them when I was there today. Maintenance staff seen cleaning up the grounds too. They do a great job of keeping it clean. Overall, I love...
Read moreFor the most part this a large clean park with lots of grass to play in, play structures for younger kids, and benches to sit on. There's a long bike path / walking path that circumscribes the park. This bike path is cleverly connected to adjacent bike paths of surrounding communities. They have a small duck pond too.
I took off a star because the pavilion looks gross on the inside with trash lining the ceiling from past parties. Also the basketball court cement floor is not even & I can't remember when they've had a net on the hoops. There's a sand volleyball court that is full of weeds and also no net for who knows how long.
Overall this is a nice quiet and clean place to meet, read a book, or play sports. We frequently ride our bikes here as a family to relax and the kids love climbing the trees. I would recommend this park due to its size and wide variety...
Read moreThis park sits quietly in the suburbs of Northwest Albuquerque; just a few miles away from Petroglyph National Monument. It's popular amongst locals and park-goers alike for a number of reasons. Large green fields of grass cover the majority of its surface area, making sports easy to organize as well as other special events. Another reason being good infrastructure: several baseball fields sit at the southern end of the park and play equipment is also heavily featured should your little one(s) need a place to expel excess energy. Walking trails are also present and appear to be favored most by local high school cross country and track teams. Last but not least, the duck ponds that lie at the epicenter of the park endows it with both its unique identity and tranquility. A wonderful park that sits quietly in Albuquerque's...
