Always an amazing time out here. Wish they would stay open later but still an amazing place. Great for fishing and kayaking. Early morning hours are the best. Its $8 to get your permit so keep that in mind when you get there. Its a huge place aswell so there's plenty of room and its almost never packed. So weather you want to just go sit and have a picnic or get out and celebrate those open outdoors they have what you need. Keep an eye out for those wild turkey that walk around from time to time. Watching the sun just glisten over the water can just be a magical thing. Im a photographer and there's so much to shoot here. Ive also hot some great footage from this place. Ive heard that the top water blow up is amaizng for the bass. They have plenty of restrooms available aswell. This is a no contact spot for the water. So You can't go take a dip in there to cool off but none the less still a really amazing place to visit and plan a trip to. There's a ton of birds and wildlife for you to photograph. The people who run it have always been nice and respectful. Bring food and drinks as there's no spot here for you to purchase any. They do have water fountains available though. They are open Fri Sat And Sun from 6am to 5pm. Good luck on dangling that line and catching a fish drrams are made of! I have photos of the place on Instagram...
