This park is a lovely park and I love taking my dog up there, since I have no children yet. There's a trail you can walk that goes around the pavilions and a few grassy areas where kids can run around and play if they're done playing on the playground. I've seen some people over there playing with their dogs off their leashes. My dog isn't behaved enough to do that. Lol but this park also has spots with stands where you can get doggy potty bags. Which is super convenient. They playground is super fun for kids too. When my friend's son was little we used to take him here after school. He loved playing on it and it's big enough for us, as adults, to play on with him, which was good since he was afraid of going down the slides by himself. He also loved going down to the water, which is a little creek that runs through it, that is part of the little wekiva river. It can get pretty high and loud when it rains a lot but it's usually just a relatively quiet trickling creek that's shallow enough to be walked across at some points. It's just a lovely park all around.
This park is a big, lovely surprise the first time you drive down Calloway (or any of the surrounding roads) and it's like a breath of fresh air every time I see parks in neighborhoods. The first time I saw this park, I fell in love, and now I live within walking distance and I love...

I got there this morning at 10:30am (Wednesday) and there were several teens just hanging there…literally. They were asleep on the floor, in the playground, on the swings, etc. I’m not their mother nor do i know their situation but they’re sleeping in the middle of the day when they should def be at school.
Next, when they left, a white van pulled up and 4 adults (3 men and 1 female) came out of a truck, left their door open (i noticed another man was waiting in the truck) and while 3 of the adults were eating under the pavillion, one of the men went to the swings holding a bag of chips and offering to the kids in the park!! I was extremely uncomfortable and overstimulated - there was also no fence so it made the van with a door open even more scary. I grabbed my daughter and left. We shouldn’t be feeling this way when we go to parks! It’s the closest to my house and it’s...
Read moreThis is a part of the Little Wekiva River, It's a wonderful little place in the neighborhood to stop and eat your lunch, but beware! It sometimes attracts a shady crowd. So enjoy your lunch but don't stick around if things start to look suspicious. Or better yet let your presence be made known if you have 911 on speed dial. It's not a bad neighborhood, I don't know why they picked this spot, maybe because it's so low key or certain people inhabit the neighborhood. If that's true just know that YOU are being WATCHED! It's my neighborhood too! And...
