My girlfriend and I visited this park and beach today. The park is nested in a forested area, mostly quiet besides distant dump trucks and nearby boats.
Today, a Thursday, the park was completely empty when we got there, with a day pass to park running us $5 paid by a drop-box. By the time we left there were only three other people there.
I think my only complaint would be the steep price of a day parking pass, though it's only $30 for an annual pass, $5 seems like a high price to pay when only parking for an hour or two in an empty lot.

Read moreBeach currently closed due to NASTY algae bloom looking like green cotton candy strewn through the water. Can't see into water hardly at all. The parking lot and picnic areas seem to be open though along with restrooms. FYI there's no showers that I noticed.
The bathrooms are a bit up the hill from beach...kinda odd. Lauch for kayaks or canoes etc to right of beach area or use boat landing to the west a bit which is better/easier.

Read moreReally wish the restrooms had better access from the beach. It was a long walk with a knee injury from a parking spot to the beach then to the restroom.
Also it would be nice if the ski sprites [water ski group] had LARGE SIGNS posting their practice days and hours ON THE BEACH and the signs stated that people can't be in the water on that side of the dock so that people didn't have to get hollered at. It's hard to understand over the noise of the boat engines.
