Wonderful, smarvelous piece of preserved natural forest with a well-marked series of trails. I've visited four times over the last week and taken a different route every time. Thank yOu to those who set this land aside and made and maintain the trails. Note - Google Maps' directions to the location near the Predators of the Heart animal sanctuary do not provide the best access. Best approach is to visit the City of Anacortes website and download the pdf maps to your mobile device and pick an access point from those. Read moreAnacortes's most wonderful areas...you can ride your horse, mountain bike, motorcycle (in some areas) and bring the kids/dogs...the beauty is all around. There is old growth trees, lakes and other amazing sights. You will definitely want to either take a photos of the map on the kiosk when you enter or purchase trail maps at the local bookstore because the trails or endless and even locals get lost if not careful.
