Rude aggressive staff. We had all the grounds to call the police, but decided to let it go. We misidentified this farm, initially driving to another one off the Interstate 80. The irrigation pipes to the fields were running a foot above the ground! My daughter stepped on the pipe, running behind her mother, when a guard approached aggressively, grabbed my daughter's hand really tightly and started pulling her away, about 15 feet. You could see red traces on my daughter's hand. My daughter bursted into tears. The guard was yelling that we should get out of the farm. I demanded her to calm down, trying to explain, that it's their responsibility to provide safe environment, and that they'd be liable is somebody breaks a led by stumbling upon their pipes. Didn't help, she were yelling and humiliating my family and threatening that we'd have to pay for the pipes ($140), not even letting me to tell a word. I approached the reception, explained the situation, and get the second round of abuse by the person, who turned out to be the father of the guard, and presumably the owner. He was trembling in rage, so we backed up as soon as we could. The day was ruined. Think twice before going there, especially with kids. The strawberry was very small and soar. The place dusty. No entertainment. Donaldson Farm where we were headed initially is a way...
Read moreGreat strawberries…but an unwelcoming atmosphere. We came as an intergenerational family for Father’s Day and happily purchased $72 worth of strawberries…but my 75 year old great uncle was asked to wait in the parking lot because he didn’t have his own basket. He was standing there keeping us company and enjoying his grand-nieces picking strawberrries, but the girls working there insisted he leave the field because he didn’t purchase his own basket—how desperate and greedy! The girls working the counter reprimanded my 18 month old for potentially “trampling berries” and yelled at our preschoolers for running on the straw paths in the field. All in all, we were basically the only family there and it felt like a police state. We spent a ton of money on what we hoped would be a sweet family experience but the customer service was ridiculously rude. Do better Sussex County...
Read moreBest family owned and operated no frills or thrills U-Pick strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pumpkins around, a farm without the distractions, keeping the fall season subdued as far as not being crowded. Best strawberries on the region, who knows maybe even the world! Great value on everything across the board pretty much. They have bedding plants and everything for your planting needs. Did I mention they have Amish made poly and wood furniture some very nice stuff, on the pricey side but can't put a price on quality, plus the poly is good for a lifetime not a couple seasons like home depot products. Overall a great place and my favorite part is I know when I shop there I know I'm helping a man provide for his family doing something not many others would be willing to do. So...
