Arbor Computers — Attraction in Ann Arbor

The short version: I had an incredible experience working with Arbor Computers. They are experienced, helpful, affordable, and go out of their way to help their customers. I wholeheartedly recommend Arbor Computers - I know I'll be going back whenever I have a problem in the future, and have already told many friends about how fortunate I feel to have gone to their store.

Longer version: I had recently bought all of the parts I needed for my first gaming PC build. I started my build in the morning, but quickly ran into a compatibility issue between my CPU and motherboard, and there was no way for me to proceed without sending my parts back to the manufacturer. I was resigned to have to ship my parts and wait weeks for fixes, but on a whim, I called Arbor Computers. They picked up the phone immediately and from the start they were kind and displayed clear competence. They asked me to bring all of my PC parts into the store, and they would troubleshoot with me.

Once I arrived at their location, I was greeted by the owner, Moin, and two employees. They quickly understood the problem I was having, but the only fix would be to build the whole computer with a different CPU chip, update the motherboard, and then replace the CPU chip with my own - quite an undertaking. Nevertheless, they gave me an extremely fair quote that only charged me for building my computer, not including the extra steps of needing to use their specialized equipment. What's more, after expressing that I was interested in building PCs, they encouraged me to stick around and watch/assist in the building process.

Throughout the build, the staff were competent, kind, and patient. While I was there, I watched them interact with other customers in the exact same fashion - from issues ranging to setting up accounts on PCs, to fixing hardware. One staff member, Sam, walked me through the entire build. After everything was completed, they stuck to the original (and again, affordable) quote. They encouraged me to call back in case I had any questions once I returned home. Once I was home, finishing setup was a breeze.

I cannot recommend Arbor Computers highly enough. They are experts in all things IT/Tech. They offer extremely affordable pricing. But above all else, they put customers first, and will make sure to support you until your issue...

5000 stars for Excellence. My daughter calls on a Saturday from uni urgently needing her computer to be fixed. Classes start Monday (of course). Her laptop was overheating and blue screening over and over. Living 2 1/2 hours from AA, I had no idea where to start. Luckily for me, I read reviews for Arbor Computers and when I called, I spoke with Moin. He said "Bring it in, we will fix it." Fix it they did! Moin and his team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get this device working -- YES, before her first class started!! They pinpointed the problem as an overheating graphics card, which they were able to fix. But even more than that, my daughter had a 1TB SSD installed to replace her almost full 500MB SSD a few days prior. This was done at a very well known big box store - and after we got the computer back, we found that almost all of her data had not been restored. The store couldn't help us get the data back from the old drive for a week, and would need to keep the computer no less than four days. Why do I tell you this? Because I mentioned it to Moin just in passing during the wonderful conversation we had.... And since I had brought the old drive with me, unbelievably, he said "We can get the data restored." And they did! Did I mention they got the device completely back to normal within 2 days? And delivered the laptop directly to my daughter? Mind blown!

There is so much more to this story which tells exactly the compassion, competence, professionalism and kindness shown to me by Moin and his entire crew. This was not one of, it was THE MOST positive experience I have ever had with any repair of anything. BEST COMPUTER REPAIR EVER!!!!

I had a custom built gaming PC with water cooling which the water cooling system unfortunately broke and spilled all over the inside (super sad i know) :( after bringing it to the big names like “Best Buy” and “Microcenter” whos recommendation was to “scrap it for parts” i thought i was screwed. I searched all over southern Michigan to Mid-Michigan for a place that could fix it calling dozens of places. I finally found this gem, Arbor Computers!

The staff sounded confident and friendly on the phone which is what initially motivated me to drive over an hour to their store. I brought my rig over and they said they would repair whatever they could and even clean up the mess! My rig ended up needing a new GPU due to the water damage but every thing else worked perfectly fine! The staff was extremely knowledgable, very friendly, and went above and beyond. Arbor Computers treated my computer like it was their own when nobody else would. They turned my computer which looked like a victim from a murder scene (because of my red colored cooling water) into a pristine robust machine again! Worth every penny and worth the 2hr there-and-back trip!
