A great place for a relaxing quite walk or take your bike to burn some calories or a perfect place to enjoy nature ; this place offers all these options. If you have young kids, the adjacent Gallup park offers play areas , picnic shelters and boating ( currently not available due to COVID19 ). The overall walking / biking trails run for many miles along huron river on both sides. There are some unmarked fishing spots if that is your interest. Most of spring / summer and early dall weekends are quite crowded but weekdays are not. You may get to see many birds, small mamals and reptiles if you are lucky. I had to use the restroom and was soo glad they had some! AND not only did they have a restroom, it was HEATED!! Omg it was perfect for the 30 degree weather outside. I even stopped by before leaving, just to defrost inside!!
There are several paths (some led to a dead end but that is part of exploring) and they have some benches that were donated by families to their loved ones (the words on them were so sweet). The benches are placed in lovely overlooking areas.
I didn’t get too far but came for birding and saw Red-Shoulder Black Birds and Bluejays.
