I came here to scout out an easy trail for a beginner to ride. Olson Park has good mountian bike trails, well marked in some places but sometimes the trail is not defined and the difficulty is inconsistent through all loops. Blue loop has three very difficult spots, especially for a loop that I believe is meant for beginners, but two of those can be avoided by staying on the paved path (counter clockwise) until the blue loop entrance after the bridge. After that the only difficult part is the corner on a cliff (overlooking the lake) that children/beginners might need to walk.
Beautiful overlooks on all trails going around the lake.
The yellow loop seems brand new (lake side). I think it will get more defined when it is ridden more. Right now the trail is just packed down grass in most spots with branches.
From my first ride, the wooded trails are not marked too well (i.e. can't tell which trail is green/orange. I'm sure I'll figure it out next time I go) I enjoyed the ride though.
Do not try to ride the "trail" that is at the dock. It might be a trail in the summer? But currently it becomes unrideably overgrown about 200 feet in then you have to walk up the hill. The trail seems to continue but there is no way anyone is riding through the...

The children's playground has great climbers and a generous sand pit (with a digger and a sand table).
The pavilion is a great side to rent for parties. Especially kids parties as it's right near the playground.
And yes, there are restrooms! I believe they are those composting types. No running water to wash hands but stocked with hand sanitizer. They are generally...
Read moreI find it amazing to think that in relatively little real estate, there is so much to do at this park! They have soccer fields, a play structure, a dog run, a basketball court, a walking trail, and a small tiny biking trail. It even has to pokestops and a Pokemon gym if you play Pokemon go.
I regularly go here to exercise, and I find myself feeling a little bit jealous of the people who have dogs playing in the park, or kids on the playground equipment. I almost forgot that there is also a pavilion. I'm not sure how you would rent The Pavilion, but I have definitely seen small parties take...
