Edit: I’d like to add that the original review mainly pertains to the staff—the owner was more polite. However, at no point during the interaction did anybody, including the owner, acknowledge that there could be an error, apologize for the false accusation, or offer any kind of help such as trying to use a different app. Nobody is entitled to be served by any business, but we expected to be treated with more respect, especially considering the fact that the mistake was on their end and it became pretty obvious by the end that we were not underage. Had the initial interaction been handled with more consideration and respect, we would have kindly returned this respect, and the misunderstanding likely could have been resolved without a need for this review to exist.
My boyfriend and I just left Starview after being refused service and almost having our state-issued drivers licenses taken from us by the servers at the bar. When we presented our IDs before we ordered, the ladies at the front scanned our Florida IDs with an unknown software and determined they were fake. The same IDs that were scanned by security at the airport to get into the state. The same IDs we were given 6 years ago at the DMV when we were 16. Starview has no procedure in place in the event of an error with their iPhone software, they just immediately treat you like a delinquent and refuse service. They kept ignorantly insisting that the app was correct and told us they would have to keep our IDs because they were fake. They did end up returning the IDs after we insisted. When they asked for us to verify the addresses on our IDs, I gave the correct one and my boyfriend gave an updated address, which was not his father’s address that is written on his 6-year-old ID. However, when asked to present an alternate form of ID, my boyfriend provided a photo of his PASSPORT to verify that everything matched his ID. By that point, though, it appeared that the owner did not care whether we were underage anymore and just wanted us to leave. We felt extremely offended, judged, and disrespected to be publicly accused of something we did not do, and then declined service even after it became obvious we were...
Read moreWent on a weekend trip to the area and stopped in this winery on the 17th in the afternoon. The woman at the wine tasting counter was helping another couple at the time, we waited for about 20 minutes until they left and then the woman working finally acknowledged us.
She told us we needed a $40 deposit for the glasses for flights and before we could say anything, she immediately began to put away other glasses and bottles and went back to ignoring us. A few minutes later another couple walked in and she greeted them very nicely and began making small talk until we decided to leave since we were not being helped at aml.
Not sure if it’s because we were the only people of color, but regardless, do not recommend!! We later went to Blue Sky and Feather Hills which were both great...
Read moreSorry to say, the worst wine tasting experience I have ever had at a winery occurred last Sat., April 9, 2016! 😡 Two wine trail buses there, many DRUNK young people, a benefit with a band playing, and a bachorlette party! No place to sit and too long a wait to order food. A VERY DRUNK YOUNG LADY in the restroom that both I and my daughter encountered. I realize that Star View has no control over some of this activity, but I told the young lady frantically trying to serve during the wine tasting that this was a terrible experience. The number of events needs to be better monitored by the winery. I would have made a purchase, but decide there was too much havoc and hassle to do that! Left...
