If you have not been dress shopping, or you're still looking, or you're looking for cocktail dresses, or men's suits, or WHATEVER, you NEED (needddddd) to go to Xandy's in Anoka. I feel like prior to my appointment, I haven't had an outstanding retail experience in years (it's rare), and I left the shop wanting to be friends with every person at Xandy's!!!
From the outside, the shop is a little bit hidden (it's not downtown Anoka), but when you walk in, you immediately get the feeling of a classy, low-key, charming boutique. Everything in there is so put together and cute, and you're immediately welcomed upon walking in.
The person who greeted me was also my stylist (Alex) and she was phenomenal. She was also training someone new, and her trainee was so sweet as well. After talking with me about what type of dress I was looking for and what some of my concern areas might be, she grabbed 4-5 dresses and stashed them in my fitting room.
Y'ALL. Every single dress she put me in, fit my body like it had a personal vendetta against ill-fitting clothing. Every. Single. Dress. Every time I walked out of the fitting room with a new dress on, my attendees audibly gasped.
Alex knows exactly what she's doing, and it's fitting, because halfway through my appointment, she told me she's the owner. And she's the cutest, kindest, silliest, most humble and knowledgeable owner ever!!!!!!
She goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable, relaxed, you're having fun, and accommodates pretty much anything you could ask for. The only thing she wasn't comfortable with was helping to get my Spanx out of a wad (hahahahaha). Although, I'm sure she would have, if I had indicated I was serious.
Sometimes in these types of big decision-making experiences, I feel like I am just another number talking to an overworked, money-hungry sales person, and I didn't for one second feel that way at Xandy's. I felt like Alex was my personal hype woman, fairy godmother, and long-lost best friend all rolled into one: cheering me on, zipping me up, and personally invested in making sure I left feeling like a million bucks, not like someone trying to sell me a million-dollar dress.
They are having a sale from November 7th - November 9th: every bridal gown is $1,399 or less, and I'm telling you, there is something there for every person (unless y'all buy out all of her stock!).
I could not recommend Xandy's enough, and I will forever be singing their praises. At the end of the day, I SAID YES TO MY DRESS!! If you go there and see Alex, tell her I say hello and that...
Read moreThe thing that makes Xandy's so special is having the entire shop to yourself. I was only shopping with my mother and it was so peaceful and relaxing getting that very personalized experience. They have amazing gowns and such a good selection. Xandy's was the only store out of 8 that even carried the "dress of my dreams", that I fell in love with on the internet. And even better, when I arrived they had it pulled out to try on and a short selection of other gowns that matched my personal style. This was also the first store that didn't pressure me into trying on what is considered in fashion now (fit and flare). I knew I wanted to be a princess and I knew I wanted a ballgown, and they didn't make me waste time with fit and flares. This was my 8th bridal store, so I have seen the high-end, the good, the bad, and the disastrous. And it just so happens that I said yes to the very last gown I tried on and it was the gown that the stylist pulled for me.
Give Xandy's a try! You won't regret it.
Update: picked up my dress and it was just so perfect and special. They send you an email when it has arrived and you make an appointment through the same website as a normal appointment. You get 30 minutes to try it on and just glory is that moment. Cia was my original consultant and she was my consultant when I picked it up. And its thanks to her that I...
Read moreMy daughter had the most amazing time with Sia at Xandy's a couple of weeks ago. We had packed the day with three shops to explore (Wedding Shoppe, A&Be, Xandy's). Living in Western Wisconsin, traveling to Anoka felt like a bit of a stretch but the online and social media reviews help me convince my daughter we had to include Xandy's in her dress shopping day. SO glad we did. Xandy's was the last stop of the day; there had been one dress that had taken the lead at the first stop followed by a incredibly discouraging experience at the second stop ("I have to be honest with you; I don't think we have anything you are looking for"). Arriving at Xandy's last was like a breath of fresh air. SO much peace. So much love. So much happiness. Instead of having our daughter rehash her day, Sia started from square one, listened carefully to our daughter and pulled dress after dress that wrapped our daughter in happiness. The decision wasn't easy but when a very special song randomly played overhead while our daughter was in one of the many incredible gowns, it was the sign she was looking for. Our daughter doesn't easily show emotion but the moment overcame her and, alas, SHE SAID YES TO not just the dress but also an incredibly perfectly matched veil! SIA- you will never be forgotten! We look forward to several months from now at dress +...
