This place is one of the best I've been to. Their queso is on point! It's not too hot and has great flavor. The salsa is also amazing! Freshly made in house as is the queso. The chip are also freshly made as well.
I got the taco tuesday lunch specials... steak street tacos, and I chose flour tortillas (I dont like the corn tortilla unless it's deep fried)... the steak has a wonderful flavor. It came with rice n beans and this sweet corn desert like thing (super good in my opinion) and, of course, the regular fixings for street tacos🌮. I didn't even have to ask for lime slices🍋🟩 they were already there ready to go for me... amazing! Lol (it's the little things for me) normally I have to ask for the lime wedges🍋🟩. I also got a beef taco🌮. They make their own taco shells. They deep fry flour tortillas and then fill it up with whatever you order that needs a hard/crunchy shell taco. The beef was nicely seasoned and actually had flavor you could taste! And of course, your usual toppings, but they added a bit of their house-made salsa, yummm 😋! Fun fact: They have a lunch buffet 🍽 and a dinner buffet 🍽 every day that ends in "Y," lol The staff is super nice and friendly. Great service for a Tuesday in December! Enjoy 😋, I know I...
Read moreIt's really unfortunate that I have to be the bearer of ill news. I never like saying anything ill of a place with good food. Make no mistake, the food here was delicious, and I would happily eat it again. Unfortunately, that's all succeeded by a big 'However...'
However...The service upon going here was absolutely appalling. The host for the night seemed panicked and frenzied and wound up sitting us down at the other end of a table that was already occupied. Upon sitting down, it took several minutes for a server to get us any chips or drinks. At this point, I was willing to assume this was simply an off day.
Well, to shorten this story, our server did not smile once, did not bring any drink refills until the end of our meal, rung up the wrong order for us, and the kitchen apparently did not know how to make flan. Which is on the menu. So I had to order something else after over 15 minutes of them attempting to make it until they gave up. We were of course not comped anything for this poor experience, because I didn't throw a temper tantrum.
I'm sad that it was such a poor experience, because this was legitimately good food. But with so many other options, I feel like I have little...
Read moreI thought hard before posting this review and come upon the decision to give feedback vs advice. I will only inform the ownership how I was made to feel. Watch the cameras back to look at my expression and reaction. I am a very patient person and felt disrespected when I spoke with the bartender behind the bar. I asked him for a menu, and then attempted to order 6 $2 steak tacos. Steak of which is not an option for the $2 tacos. Which I completely understand “steak is an expensive meat”. I asked which meats I could have (chicken or beef) , the he asked me the kind of shells I would like “ to be fair I didn’t listen to his options well and after he stated the options I said I would like soft corn tortilla shells. He responded in an upset sounding tone and repeated the options to me in an aggressive tone and I had to decide if this person who represents Casa Rio was going to be respectful to my food.
I just felt (worse than I came in feeing) so I left and went to (Taco Teresa’s) where they were kind and just as cheap if ordering 3 tacos “$6”.
If you are in between Anoka and Taco Teresa’s, I would recommend avoiding the disrespectful bartender I...
