Get ready, this is a long one. During this stay we have had more power issues than we have at any other park in the 8 months we have been full time traveling. We lost power 3 times on their end. We have been here only 4 days. It’s 90°-100° right now & we have animals inside our rig. We are so thankful we came home early or things could have been very bad. They also don’t tell you it’s happening at all either so we wouldn’t have even gotten a phone call all day. That to me is extremely concerning. If we would have came back to no power or a/c after being out for the day & our animals had been in there in this weather I would have been so extremely angry to say the very least. We are also not allowed to use generators at this time, as told by front desk lady “if you use it, we will call fire marshals & have you sited”. No one who works here even seemed concerned about the issue which makes it seem like this happens often.

We were told by the front desk lady WITH the manager next to her agreeing “the best we can do is check you out early without a refund & you can find somewhere else to stay.”

Yikes.. extremely poor answer..

We took it upon ourselves to call the power company because they kept claiming it was all their fault. The power company was concerned, had no idea what they were talking about & said it’s nothing on their end it’s the KOA. Apparently they aren’t getting a voltage check like they need to since their power keeps doing this due to laziness or lack of care.

I give it one star because I don’t find that safe for anyones pets, especially in this heat. I also give it a one star for not being told about the power issue. That’s a problem. A courtesy call would have been greatly appreciated but instead the same woman upfront also said “what do you want me to do about it? It’s 100° & we don’t have your number.” So apparently they don’t write your number down with your reservation then? Which is again another disappointing answer. The fact that she said that seeing nothing wrong with it, like yeah, that’s the point, that’s the issue here. Yet again another red flag. After our experience here we will be staying somewhere else this winter.

This place also does not do refunds, which makes sense since they probably wouldn’t make much if they did. Again, one star also due to very poor business here, cognitive dissonance & lack of empathy. Front desk was very disrespectful & did not care about our concerns. Such a “not my problem” kind of attitude.

There are currently people with no power still as I am writing this & no one has been called which means who knows how many animals are baking in peoples trailers & rvs right now. It’s sickening to say the very least. Just a heads up for any others who are thinking about this place because we are now having to call about staying somewhere else. Not the type of stay we had in mind.

Please do better at this location. With how staff acted about very concerning issues (especially front desk lady) I doubt this review will be taken serious but this was the most frustrating experience I’ve ever...

Stayed for one night in a daily pull-through and it was a good stay so we opted to stay a few more days. HUGE mistake! They didn't have any pull throughs so they moved us into the "residents" area of the park. We are quiet and we like to be near others who are quiet. With this said, we asked which spot they were going to move us to so we could check for possible noise scenarios - especially while paying high priced daily rates. The employee said "I cannot tell you which spot, it's company policy." We were very uneasy with paying for an unknown spot with an RV Park that states "no refunds." We called back and the same employee, who obviously understood how ridiculous it was to be "hiding the spot number" that we were ready to move to, told us we would be in a certain row next to a brick building which left one spot. We checked it out and decided to reserve. We call back to reserve a few more days and get a different employee who repeats the whole cycle of "I cannot tell you which spot we're moving you to." We remained polite but were not happy about the way we were being treated. We said we could move forward providing they did not put us in the spots near children - for noise reasons. She said "there aren't any children near the spot" We reserved a few days, paid and then asked for the spot number. They continued to withhold the spot number because "someone was still in the spot." She indicated she would call as soon as they left. Around 10:40 am, still not knowing our spot number, a man drives up ready to direct us to the spot. As we pull in, we are surrounded by three families with children (one across from us, one next to us and one behind us). We went into the office and asked what happened. They said it was the only spot they had left for two days.

We got a refund and moved to another spot available for only one night. We were told someone would direct us to our spot. After waiting for 15 minutes and wondering why no one was arriving - they called and asked us to move ourselves because everyone was going to lunch! We pulled into our new spot - DOGS BARKING non-stop. Several RVs have reactive dogs that bark at anything that moves or makes a sound. Great for them that they found a park allowing this kind of thing - not pleasant for us having to pay high prices to listen to it.

And lastly, if you stay any longer than one night, you might notice that you are under the flight path of propeller planes that sometimes come every 10-15 minutes.....

I've been RVing for a long time and I'm getting tired of rates soaring to astronomical amounts for daily spots while the live-in residents who are causing much of the noise and violating every rule imaginable are paying 30-50% of what I pay per night. If I showed up in a $60 plus daily spot and tossed a dog outside to bark like this - do you think I'd receive the same consideration - would they look...

Don’t stay here if your dates could change, even remotely.

I do not recommend this site to anyone, especially if your dates can change - even in unforeseen ways.

My wife and I had reservations here from Apr 20th through May 5th 2018. Let me begin by saying it’s a lovely campground. The people are great, the facilities are maintained and clean, and the grounds are well cared for. I have only 2 complaints. The Wi-Fi does not work, at all. Enough said. The No Refinds for Early Departure Policy, which is well posted and signed for on your receipt. This is not a surprise to us and we fully expected to be here the entire time. Isn’t it funny how Life Changes in unexpected ways though. Let me explain. After spending 8 days here (off peak season) for a memoral Service for my brother who passed away, our family situation changed all of a sudden, in a way that could not have been foreseen (and I won’t boar you with those details). With 48 hours advance notice, I notified the desk of our requirement to depart 5 days early, spending 10 days here. They reminded me of their Policy of No Refunds for Early Departure. This is not peak season, and every night there are plenty of empty spaces available, so it’s not like they had to turn away business because of my reservation. I explained my situation to the manager (the owners are a corporation called MCM Tomahawk Holdings LLC.) who was very nice but was adamant that their corporate policy was inflexible and there were absolutely no exceptions - EVER! I reaffirmed to here that we will have spent 10 nights here and I was willing to pay a reasonable penalty. She listened sympatheticly and politely held firmly to the Corporate Policy, not taking any responsibility and putting blame firmly on them. Remember, this is NOT KOA’s Policy. This is the policy of the corporation, MSM Tomahawk Holdings LLC (Registered Address: 1703 NORTH THORNTON ROAD, CASA GRANDE, AZ 85122). When asked for the name of the corporation whe reluctantly game me the name but refused to give me a mailing address or any other information, saying it is public record and I would have to look it up. I will now have to leave 5 days early at $51 per night (total of $255) because they can not and WILL NOT make any exceptions to their self imposed policies. Oh, and just Incase your wondering, I will never stay at this KOA ever again! I will make reviews on Trip Advisor, here and other Social Media sites in the hopes my misfortune can be avoided by others. I also plan to lodge a complaint about their policy with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Go Army!

Update: 6/22/18. Months after writing the corporate offices and even the law offices who represents them, I have received no response. They obviously don’t care anything about the people who keep them...

If you have a young family and a large dog and visited the Mesa/ Gilbert/ Chandler Arizona area you know there are tons of RV parks to stay in but not many that don’t have age restrictions or have pet size restrictions. Fear not! There is a nice quiet KOA over in Apache Junction! They have a nice dog park area, a pool, and friendly staff! #koa #apachejunction #rvlife #rvliving #5thwheel #5thwheelliving #5thwheelfamily #roaddog #travelvlog #travelblogger #arizona

As a lifelong tent camper we are fortunate to get our first RV. We were assigned to spot 57 and our RV could not auto-level there. We called the emergency number for permission to move across the way to an empty spot (no response from the night host at all). About 2:00 am we gave up on the night host, moved, leveled and went to sleep. All of our contracts and the KOA space number was in our window. The next morning, we were awakened by a laugh knock. A male KOA employee in a yellow shirt, white beard and straw hat yelled at me, “go up front and register.” I tried to explain the night before, he cut me off. I asked if I could get my registration and contract from the window of the RV and he said “your paperwork means nothing to me, just go up front NOW and register.” I could not get another word out before he put his hand up in my face said and said “lady, go to the front office and register.” He then kept circling our campsite with his golf cart as we packed up. So short on sleep, we packed up three hours before our registration time was up, no breakfast and no shower, ran to the front office. Of course, by the time I got to the front office, they had heard about what happened from another employee and there was a lady there apologizing all over the place and saying the actions of their employee was wrong and inappropriate. She said in their defense, the night host should have called us back in the night (that’s her job) and she should have called or left a note for them that we had moved across the way. (The park was about half full, tons of open spots). So one KOA employee jostles us out of our sleep, belittles and disrespects us, the KOA night host they say is new to the job and made a number of mistakes including never giving the morning crew a heads up regarding the night before. So KOA culture is: (1) do not talk to your paying customers, just yell at them and belittle them and (2) when you on board night hosts, you do not adequately train them in customer service. Joined KOA top membership, first RV, first road trip, first stop on the road trip and this was our first experience with KOA culture.

I will give more than two stars but unfortunately their customer service made it impossible. I called over a month ago and reserved two nights I called back three weeks ago and canceled one of the nights. Fast-forward on our trip I get a call saying they’re canceling both of our nights because we didn’t show up. We didn’t show up because I had already canceled it weeks ago. Their excuse: prove that you called two weeks ago I don’t think you can. I had it on my phone history but they wouldn’t look. The woman in the office has a snide response to my arrival and was not kind in the least bit. I told her as I came in that I was not upset and I was ok paying for the extra night even though they made the mistake so there was no reason to be rude. *As I was standing there she started talking to another employee bad mouthing a customer about a situation very similar to mine. I found that very unprofessional to speak about your customers like that to anyone in front of anyone. *Also when we came in the bbq was locked and no one was available at the office like they said they would be. Their excuse: it was my fault for not coming the first day. * but I talked to them and told they that day that we would be coming and it was ok that we paid for the other day and a person escorted us to our space so how’s that our fault. Just absolutely unprofessional I would have settled with “I’m so sorry this happened I wish I could do more but I can’t” But what I got was a laundry list of excuse to why I was at fault and a snide condescending attitude from them. * also the water there next to the sink as Phoenix residents I’m sure they know not to use it but for someone coming from another state they may not know. I tested the water and it was reading at max contamination level. There should be a sign stating that for their own safety. I won’t be back
