I just love this park! I've been once before, but this time we had our daughter, and she was old enough to start grasping the implications of what the monuments mean. It is such an amazing thing to have tangible things to assist in teaching our kids.
For those of you who don't know, Soldiers Walk is a chronological experience of most of our history as it relates to the military. There are statues ranging from George Washington, down through George Bush and his leadership during the Persian Gulf War. Various memorials honor those from the area who served in these conflicts, and make special mention of those who were deployed into combat, and mark those who were killed in action.
