I just love this park! I've been once before, but this time we had our daughter, and she was old enough to start grasping the implications of what the monuments mean. It is such an amazing thing to have tangible things to assist in teaching our kids.

For those of you who don't know, Soldiers Walk is a chronological experience of most of our history as it relates to the military. There are statues ranging from George Washington, down through George Bush and his leadership during the Persian Gulf War. Various memorials honor those from the area who served in these conflicts, and make special mention of those who were deployed into combat, and mark those who were killed in action.

There are a few vehicles on display here, including a tank, an F-16 fighter jet (which I didn't get to see on my previous trip), and even some artillery pieces. Of particularly poignant note, for me personally, was the section dedicated to 9/11, including a twisted structural I-beam from the World Trade Center attack. It is a tangible reminder of the horrors of war, and a place to reflect on our roles not just as citizens of the United States, but also our greater place as human beings in an ever more globalized world.

If you are considering going, I really think you owe it to yourself to see it. Even if you stop to read every piece of engraving, you could easily clear the park in an hour or less, but it is also resides in a nice area for relaxing in the good weather and enjoying...

My wife and stopped at each monument and read the place and time of what happened.

Was also surprised there was not more people here, was only one other couple.

My wife and I took two of our family members with us and enjoyed walking around the park and viewing the memorials along soldiers walk. My sister inlaw is a retired military person and I could see the emotional impact as we spent the time together remembering all the fallen. I personally get a renewed pride of country and community evertime I tour this beautiful and powerful display. Highly recommend that you take the time to honor their sacrifice for the freedom we...

This is a very nice memorial park. From the first Independence War to the Perisan war there is a memorial for all of them. It was a very emotional and proud place to be. If you are in Acadia WI you have to see this.
