This is the public and FREE entrance to the cueva del Indio. There is a white trash can (with some graffiti) and a wooden sign post (we think the sign was removed). Unfortunately we don’t have a good picture of it.
The path is well maintained and you’ll see a pedestrian bridge crossing into the beach. It is very accessible. We went at noon and had the whole beach to ourselves.
You can walk up on the side to see the caves. The rocks are sharp but very manageable. My senior family member was able to walk up with no issue. However, there is a steep drop on the edges once you get to the cave so please be mindful of the side. Children may not be suitable too high up the cave.
There is a pull out right across along the street that I saw someone park at, but there’s parking for $5 if you look right across the white trash can entrance. It has a very small handwritten sign. Drive very slowly or you’ll miss it. Sorry we don’t have...

Take a left, go up the volcanic rock (shoes are a must, it's sharp!), cross the rock bridge, go through the nice plant trail, then continue along the rocks to get to the very obvious cave entrance (right past the opening where you see the water breaking against the rocks). You can't go down into the second level of the cave anymore, but it doesn't matter, the overall place and experience is fantastic.
Pay attention, especially if you are bringing kids! This would be roped off in America...there are several people-sized holes one could fall into, especially as you are walking paying attention to not step on sharp volcanic rocks. But this adds to the adventure!
Lastly, it's a beautiful place to catch the sunset (walk up the rocks to left of cave and find...
Read moreHello everyone, this is an absolutely beautiful place that’s a must-visit! The entrance is completely free. "Cueva del Indio (Alternativa)" This alternative location provides free roadside parking, and from there, you can take a short walk along the beach to enjoy the same breathtaking views.
The spot is truly stunning and perfect for photography lovers. However, it’s not stroller-friendly, so you’ll need to carry young kids or toddlers uphill. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, as the terrain can be challenging. Swimming here is not recommended.
I can’t wait to visit this incredible place again! No restrooms. Overall you can spend couple of hours here...
