If I could do 0 stars I would. This place was absolutely disgusting for the wedding that was held there over the weekend. Mud all over the floors, dirty bathrooms, lady bugs everywhere, mold in the kitchen, inches of dust on the banisters and so much more. Owners were NO help to our family. They sent their son over because they wanted nothing to do with it. Left no clean towels for the bridal suite, had 4 rolls of toilet paper for a wedding and no trash bags. The only time the owner gave a damn was when guests were arriving and they didnt want them parking in the grass. Yet had no problem leaving a recliner and mattress by the dumpster. Dead plants by the arbour that we had to move ourselves. The bridal suite had water damage on the walls as well as the tables that they wanted us to get ready with. Beer cans scattered all over the parking lot as well. If we didnt have such an amazing family this would of been a disaster. We also had to rent a floor cleaner to get the floors cleaned. This place is absolutely disgusting and to have a pregnant bride cleaning and scrubbing the day before her wedding because of owners "oversight" of the disgusting venue. When the bride woke up in the bridal suite the morning of her wedding she was greeted with a cockroach in her bed. The owners did NOT help nor return texts or calls. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The lack of communication and the filth was absolutely unacceptable for a wedding venue. Please learn from our family's mistake and never rent this venue. As stated earlier, I am so glad we have an amazing family to make the wedding day as great as we could for the...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Ely Manor was so poor that I feel obligated to warn others. The venue was extremely dirty and unkept from the moment we arrived. There were dead bugs, dust, and cobwebs throughout the property, and overall it felt unhygienic and neglected.
The kitchen, which they advertise as a “fully equipped operational kitchen,” was by far the worst part. It had black mold in the refrigerators, cobwebs everywhere, junk and personal items scattered around, and even the water didn’t work properly. It was nowhere near suitable for any kind of catering or event use.
The bridal suite was also dirty, with bugs and other unpleasant surprises still present when we arrived. Clearly, the venue had not been properly cleaned or maintained before our event.
To make matters worse, even though we had booked the entire venue, parts of the property were blocked off without any prior notice or compensation. We paid for full access but were denied parts of the space, which was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
The owners were very difficult to deal with from start to finish, showing little care or concern for our experience. Overall, I would never recommend Ely Manor for any wedding, party, or event unless you’re comfortable with filth, poor management, and false...
Read moreVenue was nice, could have been cleaner. The owners did not have good communication and never stopped by to see if we needed anything. Ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. Thankfully we brought our own based on what other brides previously shared with me. I asked them to pick up trash around the outside garage cans and move old cars out of the parking area so our guests could use those spots to park. They didn't. When we took a tour of the venue and signed the contract, one of the deciding factors was that the owner would serve as our coordinator for the day so we wouldn't have to stress. We did not have a coordinator. She informed us that week that she was going to speak at a conference even though she told us during the tour that she would be there. We had trouble finding some of the tables so I sent her texts asking about them. Turns out she was across the street the entire time and never came over to see if we needed anything or to make sure we found what we needed. Several other issues could be listed as well. Thankfully friends and family stepped up to help us out and it turned out to be a...
