El Carnaval Mexican Restaurant LLC — Restaurant in Linn

I generally try not to leave negative reviews for places because of the years of experience I have in the service industry. I understand, first hand, how hard it is to run a restaurant and how tiring the job is.

However, there is a difference between trying your best and not getting a great product out, and genuine laziness.

The service here was very lackluster. Our drinks were never refilled, we waited very long periods of time to be served, meanwhile we saw some of the servers just sitting at a table on their phones.

The food, when it came out, was cold and smelled like actual feces. The steak street tacos I ordered smelled exactly like what my chicken coop smells like after I forget to clean it for a few days. Extremely chewy too. I only finished one bite of the three tacos I ordered. Absolute waste of money on my part.

The rice and beans were good, but still served kinda cold.

Maybe we just went on the worst day possible. But I don’t think I will ever...

Our waiter didn’t understand what we were saying and we had to point to the menu and he still didn’t seem to understand very well. We also saw that he spilled a glass of ice water and cleaned it off the table and chair but not the floor, hence leaving a puddle. The chips were not salty and they were bland. The meal was also very bland and flavorless. We ordered an appetizer and it arrived after we got our meals. When we got our meals, the waiter had no idea what food went where or what we ordered. The atmosphere was also very loud and you could barely hear the people beside you. Overall service was...

I love Mexican food! We travel year long all over the United States. We are from Osage county Missouri, so why had I not tried this restaurant? I have now and I will be eating there a lot during my short stay at home. I walked in with my mind set of to go order. The young man at the register was helpful and pleasant to assist myself with the menu and my order. The amount of food we received easily fed five adults. With two orders of the fajitas and chips and salsa! Delicious! I am heading back tomorrow...
