A nice hidden gem! I visited the Visitor Center to grab some phamplets, then used the bathroom which was located outside, but not like an outhouse at all! They were very clean even if it felt a little cramped. After that, I walked around in the park, which provided facts about the state and area. I was surprised how much it expanded and it was nice to see new bird species.
Last of all, I went inside the museum. The man running it is the Head of Director of Black Canyon City History. He told me a lot about the first white people who settled here and told me the whold building used to be a school over 100 years ago. The museum is small, but felt very homely and learned a lot of history. All products were donated by locals and the coolest thing to me were newspaper clippings of what happened in modern history (WWII, Moon landing, etc.).
Please donate to both places if you can since both the men running it are just volunteers! It was a pleasant place to visit and I recommend to anyone new...

The walk through the preserve was beautiful and peaceful. The birds were chirping! We bought (and highly recommend buying) a nature guide to the preserve and, along with the kids, saw most of the plants animals birds that were listed...
