FREE Dispersed Camping up to 10 days. There are tents, RVs, and just vehicles. I recommend pulling over near the entrance at a wide pullover spot and scouting out where you want to go before you go down the hill towards the boat ramp. It's completely doable but there's spots allover and if you want to stay on the north end, just save yourself from the 1 washboard, Curvy hill. There are spots all over, though! The weekends fill up but people just camp a little closer, weekdays are rather quieter with a better chance of waterfront spots. There are a lot of spots around the lake and above the quarry/overseeing the lake. Theres even a designated free camping area on a gravel lot if you want to be near the boat ramp and dont mind being in a park area around others. Great fishing, fun boating, hiking, biking, and 4x4. Next to a military area so expect lots of aircraft. Also expect coyotes, big horn sheep, lizards, and plenty of birds (cranes, seagulls) and ducks. Waterfront spots aren't necessarily all they're cracked up to be in the cooler months.. double the mosquitos and flies. The water has a semi-stagnant smell. Yuma Walmart is less than a half hour away. Drinking water $1 for 5gal or $0.25/gal at the Chevron ~7miles down the road from the lake off 95. For dumping, we plan on hitting one of the RV Parks around here (there's so many) or Quartzsite has an amazing RV Pit Stop depending on what direction you're going. Missing a star because people can AND will park right next to you and blare music late...

This lake is a lot bigger than my son and I expected. It's an ideal fishing spot if you have a boat, and you can easily fish from the shore as well (that's what we did). There are jetties between Betty's Kitchen and the boat ramp that you can pull into and fish from, and you can jump in the water and swim a bit when you need to cool down. We pulled in a nice smallmouth bass from here.

The boat ramp has lots of parking and a bunch of hard picnic tables with lights on all night long. It's a great place for a group to BBQ while the kids (and adults!) swim. Tons of hiking and bird watching in the area as well. Great location along...

It was such a fun place to explore ans relax during Thanksgiving weekend. It was not too busy and the best part is ite FREE camping. How can it get any better than that? It was pretty windy while we were there, not sure of this is a regular thing at this campground. People flying around with their side by sides and motorcycles made it dusty which was a downside. But we had a great time here overall, the dog got to go swimming and it was fun being out in nature for the weekend. We did not see any dump sites, we did see some bathrooms located at the group site, as well as...
