Cowley County State Lake Waterfall — Attraction in Arkansas City

Love to unload my kayak at the dock and get to fishing!

Quite a bit of algae on lower level by the banks, but the fish still come!

Only thing I do not like what so ever, is the fact that it is a NO WAKE lake. That's not what I don't like, it's the fact that you have all these little motorized fishing boats speeding around, the majority will slow down while passing me, but the waves keep thrashing me around.

We went at the perfect time. Water was flowing across the entire falls area. Really pretty and neat to see. Would be nice if they could improve the path to the bottom. Most people should probably not try to go.down there.

Also.not sure who to blame but broken glass everywhere. People need to stop taking their bottles on their trek and maybe the park needs to organize a cleanup day to get that taken care of. Also maybe post some signs and enforce a no...

I am on a hunt to find all of the waterfalls within a few hours drive of my home.

We saw people coming out of the entrance so finding it was fairly easy. It is definitely a bit of a climb up/down to get to.

We were wearing sandals and did just fine, however if it was recently rainy and it’s muddy down there you’d definitely want some better shoes!
