Cowley County State Lake — Attraction in Kansas

Such a beautiful small little lake. The camping spots up above that overlooks the lake are very few.. possibly only two maybe three that are level out of maybe 8 sites. The road that goes down to the waterfall closest to the lake is a hairpin curve and very steep. I would not take anything longer than a 30 ft with a trailer. But we did take the car and had a picnic.. it was very quiet! Seems like I only half the lake has camping spots. The other half you can't get...

Good place for family & pets. Relaxing, swimming in the water pool below the waterfall, and some hiking. Unsure about fishing as I haven't tried it out yet but if I do I'll update.

If going down to the base of the waterfall I recommend water shoes if swimming, or hiking shoes if just getting to the bottom. There is quite a bit of glass on the trails to the fall, thought it was worth mentioning. it did not hurt my dog either way up or down so I still say...

Falls were pretty. Lots of broken glass on the way down. It would be a great Scout project to clean up the area. Nice fishing places. The outhouses at the entrance were pretty primal. We didn't check out the ones...
