There's more to Cedar Glades Park than the Disc Golf Course. It has a climbing wall, amphitheater, huge tree fort, an area for flying remote control planes and kites and a playground.
But the feature I was there to use were the mountain bike trails. There are three main trails, Black which is the most difficult and is 4.6 miles long, Blue which is probably intermediate and is 3.84 miles long and the easiest trail, Green which runs for 1.2 miles.
We rode the Blue today and it was by far one of my favorites of all time. The trail isn't particularly difficult or technical but is one of the most beautiful trails I've ridden in Arkansas. You ride through stands of tall pine trees that cast amazing shafts of light and shadows all around the course.
There are several creek crossings but there are well maintained bridges to keep you dry. Thigh burning hills like Heart Attack Hill make you work but at the crest of each one you're rewarded with very fast flowing downhills on the pine needle covered trails. Stretches like the Rollers and Triple By-Pass are a blast but watch out for the switchbacks. They're sharp and make you check your speed, even where the berms are built up.
Overall this his one the most fun and well maintained trails I've ridden and I'll be sure to ride it again the next time...
Read moreRV Overnight Review: I’ve stayed here now 3 different times while driving either out west or coming back from the west. This is a public park for ultimate frisbee, biking, remote control airplanes, and some other interesting activities. Only stayed in January and February. There is usually only 1 or 2 other dogs so plenty of space. Try to get here in the day time. The last 2 to 3 miles is not fun, up and down hills and around sharp curves with no lighting, guard railed, or road paint. Loud coyotes but don’t let them scare you off they usually stop at dark. There is 1 van that has been there every night I’ve stayed and they usually leave at sunrise. Bathrooms are clean, trails are nice, and land is pretty much flat. Doesn’t seem like there is a designated spot to park so I usually park by the bath house in the grassy area or up by the remote control airplane pad. On the weekends you will see lots of bicycles but they are friendly. I stay here because it’s a 12 minute drive into Hot Springs where you can bathe in mineral baths for $20! Town is cute! Read moreMy husband(Shawn) had visited this park before and was telling me about it and we planned to go. So after Magic Springs yesterday we decided to go. It is a awesome park, it seemed to be well kept. It has trails, a playground area, picnic area(great to do a party or something there.), has a beautiful tree house and the view is beautiful, it has a frisbee golf, a rock climbing area(think you got to call on that to do that, not sure though), it has a RC off-road and aircraft part to play at, outside amphitheatre, bathrooms. It is an awesome park, we played over at the RC off-road and playground part. We also went over and was at the tree house part just checking out the beautiful view....
