We recently stayed in one of the tree houses over 4th of July weekend for 4 nights. I’m rating it 3 out of 5 stars because our stay was not that spectacular. I typically don’t write reviews and debated whether I wanted to write something about this business. Here’s some of the good and bad:
The good: their location is fantastic and the views are beautiful. They also have an awesome trail on the property. The unit itself is well decorated and definitely “instagram worthy”. They seem to run their operation in a friendly manner. The unit was equipped with all of the basics, except any cleaning supplies which would have been handy. They did provide coffee, shampoo/conditioner. It also seemed clean when we got there- and Airbnb rentals can be hit or miss.
The bad: we ended paying close to $600/night for the unit we stayed in, probably due to the dates we were there and perhaps since it was booked through Air BnB. At that cost, I really would expect the stay to be perfect. First, when we pulled up, we realized that there was another unit actively under construction right next to our unit. We should have been forewarned and notified. Unlike what is represented in the photos, the units are actually pretty close to each other and this one was directly across the driveway from ours. Fortunately, it was just 1 day of our stay that construction was underway, but having known that I probably would’ve made a different choice and booked elsewhere. The biggest issue we had was that the unit apparently had bedbugs. We thought at first that it must be mosquitos, but all of us (a family of 5) were noticing bites where mosquitos could not reach… by the last night that we were there, we realized what was happening. When we got home, I cleaned all of our clothing and suitcases, but now they have infested our house. Yay. A few things I think should be addressed at our unit: even though everything looked good, there were some definite flaws when trying to use the space. The kitchen table was made out of a solid piece of wood. Due to its design, it was so warped as to be almost unusable. We had to stabilize it with a piece of folded paper under two legs to keep food from spilling out of bowls and off of plates. The table top dipped toward the center so everything slid to the middle of the table. The pleather on the chairs was badly peeled… just should be addressed as part of unit maintenance. Also, the beds and pillows themselves were incredibly uncomfortable… and again, bed bugs.
Again, I feel a little mixed about this place. I do appreciate the friendly management but I feel ultimately like we got overcharged for a place that looked nice in the photos but certainly wasn’t worth what we paid. I also appreciate the aesthetic and the location, but it seems like they need to work on maintaining the functionality of their units a bit better and make sure to check for...

Read moreWhat a great find! It’s worth the high price tag. We stayed in a cabin (The Wagoner, 247).
PROS: It was very nicely decorated. Everything seemed super clean! Decor. They even some Christmas decorations out, including a Christmas tree. The views were amazing! Quiet. It felt like we were the only ones out there since the cabins are spaced well and angled strategically. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit on the porch - especially on the cold days we were there. We even saw some turkeys walking around, too. They had everything you could need to make a meal. The bathroom had a hair dryer and plenty of bath towels and towels for the hot tub, too! Heated floors in the bathroom! Water pressure isn’t too bad. Better than an average hotel.
CONS: Privacy. There are many big windows for the amazing views, but the window in the bedroom facing the road was a little too much. I walked out to the road and could see my husband in the bedroom - it was especially bad at nighttime! The windows have no blinds, so we used pillows to block the bottom foot or so of the window. That solved the problem. We didn’t want to have to think about or be strategic about where we needed to change to not expose ourselves to anyone! I was a little surprised to have to deal with that. It may not be a problem in all the cabins/treehouses, but it is in the Wagoner. Sleeping. If you like a dark room at night, think twice. We used the breaker panel to figure out how to turn off the lights on the front of the cabin shining into our room. That helped darken the room but the cabin’s lights next to us were coming into the bedroom, too. Blinds on just even the bottom half of the windows in the bedroom would go a long way!
Overall, the visit was lovely, relaxing, and peaceful. 5 stars! We will be back but maybe will pick a different...
