I want to start off by saying I have NEVER written a review let alone a bad review. I work in retail and truly respect and value the time and effort people put in to their work and understand how hard it can be. Nonetheless, going to this store has been my WORST experience EVER. I called on the phone and asked for an acrylic nail set and was told that they provide that service. Came in to my appointment and was reassured again that they could do it. The lady doing my nails after already starting them said "I'm doing dip" or something along those lines. I have been getting acrylic for two years now and have never heard of a dip set and thought that the way that she was doing it was just another way of doing acrylic nails ESPECIALLY SINCE I ASKED FOR and was assured that they do acrylic nails. The nails were quite uneven but I came in late and didn't say anything cause I felt bad for taking up the nail technicians time, and I paid tipped and left. After 2 DAYS 3 nails broke off, and after 6 a whole hand broke off. I was home for the summer and was not working or doing anything strenuous to have 6 nails break in only 6 days. So I went back to the store and voiced my concern since I paid over 60 dollars for the service. The tech who did my nails was there and she said that I must have done something for them to break off and I responded that I did not and have never had acrylic nails break off so fast. She then told me that they were not acrylic like I asked for but a "dip set" which break off faster than acrylic and that they are gonna charge me again to fix them. I said that I did not want to pay since this has never happened to me over my over two year experience of getting acrylic nails done and that I asked for acrylic nails not a dip set. She said that they do not provide acrylic nails which does not make sense because NOT ONCE was I told while asking for acrylic nails that they do not provide it which is false marketing. Right away she started being so rude and saying that I should have come after three days not six which I couldn't because it was right before the fourth of July and I had family over. I was attempting to explain myself in a kind and respectful way and she shushed me and told me to "Be quiet" because she was gonna do it for free....... I was so shocked, here I am being respectful and EXPLAIN myself and was told to essentially shut up. Not only that she started going off saying 'I know people like you who come in and complain', and 'I'm not gonna treat you like a queen like you want'. She kept on saying horrible, rude, and offensive things like that in a mocking tone until I started crying because every attempt to speak back was met with a "Be quiet". I told her I was going to leave a bad review if she didn't stop talking to me like that and she said and I quote "Your review doesn't matter because we have a lot of customers who like us and leave good reviews."............ In conclusion, I was mouthed off, told to shut up, and told that my opinion over my treatment was unworthy of concern. I don't understand why I was treated this way since I was nothing short of respectful and due to my treatment I do not recommend this place for anyone who wants to be treated like a...
Read moreThe staff was friendly, the space was clean, and I felt comfortableâso much so that I almost convinced myself this would be a glowing review. Almost. But, in the spirit of fairness (and protecting my tech, who again was kind), Iâll keep their name out of this.
If youâre an acrylic girlie, let me save you some time: this spot is not it. I booked a refill in advance and shared I had a few broken nails, I was promptly informed that each one would cost me $3 to fix. Fine. But the Ă la carte pricing didnât stop there. $10 for cat-eye polish? $7 for a designâbut only on two fingers? I wasnât sure if that meant two per hand or two total, but at that point, I wasnât even brave enough to ask.
I called ahead to say I was running lateâtotally my badâbut they assured me it would be fine if I made it in 15 since they were closing an hour later. Fast forward to me rushing in 13 minutes after my appointment time⊠only to find both techs still working on clients. Another 10 minutes before I even sat down. Not exactly the urgency I was expecting.
Then came the shape/length issue. I like my nails pointy almondâjust shy of stiletto. Apparently, if I wanted my length cut down or shortened, I had to either get a full set (definitely wasnât time for that at this point) or switch to coffin. This is not normal. To avoid the coffin ultimatum, I agreed to keep my length, but somehow, I still ended up with nails that were neither the shape nor the uniformity I requested. To add insult to injury (literally), I left with one nicked finger and another that got a little too acquainted with the file. *left hand
Hereâs the thingânot every tech is skilled in every style, and thatâs okay. But just say that. A heads-up when I booked or even when I called to check in wouldâve gone a long way. If I had known the acrylic-and-design specialist wasnât there, I wouldâve happily rescheduled. But instead, I left feeling overcharged, underwhelmed, and slightly injured.
And the reviews pictured here?! The math isnât mathing.
Would I come back? Maybe⊠if I was a short, square, single-color kind of girl. But for my fellow long nailed, shaped, and designed acrylic lovers?...
Read moreI got a groupon for the gel manicure and spa pedicure for $52, which IS a good price. I made an appointment because that is the only way the groupon "worked". When I arrived for my appointment there were 6 technicians working and it didn't seem that busy. I was greeted and I said I had an appointment; I was told to go pick a color. I did and then I just sat back up front because I wasn't directed to go anywhere. As I sat a woman came in after me and even though her appointment wasn't for another 20 minutes, they led her to a chair. Almost an afterthought, the girl came and got me. I sat waiting for another 20 minutes before my technician started on me. She asked if I had already had a gel manicure and I said yes. She said yes and then said quietly while avoiding eye contact, "Since you didn't get the gel here, it'll cost $4 extra to remove it." I informed her that I had already paid for my groupon and she said it's extra but when I come back, I won't be charged for the removal. Huh? So after a very rushed cuticle trim and shaping and an equally lackluster salt scrub massage, I got the parafin wax for my feet and hot towels for my legs, which was nice. She did do a decent job painting my toenails and there aren't any jagged pieces I could find. She did an okay job on my fingernails too. Another disconcerting thing was as I was sitting getting my mani, a woman came in to say she had gotten her gel manicure done a week ago and it was already chipping and peeling. They told her to get the color and it was weird because the guy I assume was the owner or something was trying to say it might have been because they had her wash her hands; to which she responded they didn't have her wash her hands. He said maybe that was the problem...um no. In my experience, if the gel is chipping off, it's because the tech didn't put it on right or it's bad quality/ old polish that needs to be thrown away. I am hopeful for my manicure because I really do like the color, I just hope it lasts more than a week, especially since I ended up paying more than I normally do without a groupon. I won't be...
