Very disappointing experience. Visited Saturday, 10/21, arriving at 4:00. They advertise a 6:00 closing time, so we thought we would have enough time to pick pumpkins and enjoy the other advertised attractions; inflatables, corn maze, face painting and petting zoo, just to name a few. We decided to do the hayride/pumpkin picking first. We had typical waiting times for the hayride, nothing ridiculous. Got back to the from the field around 5:35. Upon arriving, we found 99% of the food trucks closed. The inflatables were deflated. The animals were no longer in the pens. The handful of remaining people were headed towards the exit, as all the attractions I could see were closed. No face painting, no pony rides, no anything. Needless to say, we left very disappointed. I decided to message the farm and explain our experience in the hopes that they would want to rectify the situation and make it right. I asked for a discounted rate to return and experience the other attractions, excluding pumpkins, as we already had those. The reply I received began with, “That is not true”. They went on to claim that they had to ask people to leave at 6:05, as there were people still on a jump pad(that I never saw). The farm went on to claim customers had opportunities to have the same experience whether they arrived at 10am or 5:30pm. I sincerely wish I had video/photos of the state of the property at 5:35, when we got off the hayride. It was a ghost town as far as attractions and vendors went. Not only did we have a less than satisfactory experience, I was also insulted by whomever replied to my message. Unfortunately, they did not identify themselves. Needless to say, we will not patronize their business in the future and strongly suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. There are plenty of options for pumpkin picking and Hanover Vegetable Farm is NOT the...
Read moreHi everyone, I’ve been working as a contractor for many years and have spread a lot of topsoil in that time, so I know what to expect in terms of quality. Unfortunately, the 15 yards of topsoil I received from Hanover Vegetable Farm was some of the most compacted material I’ve ever dealt with. When I called to question the condition of the load, I was told it “gets clumpy when wet” — and at that point, they had already charged my credit card. However, this wasn’t just clumpy soil. More than half the load consisted of hard, compacted balls of dirt, many of which were so dry and discolored it was obvious they were from previous seasons. The color and texture were inconsistent, and a lot of it was simply unusable as-is. What should have been a 3-hour spreading job turned into an 8-hour ordeal, as I had to shovel piles of these clumps into a wheelbarrow and manually break them down before I could even attempt to spread them — especially around the edges. I don’t normally leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be shared. I hope Hanover takes a closer look at their soil quality control...
Read moreWe had been using Hanover Vegetable Farm to get our mulch for 4 years wanting to support small business and truly getting great service and mulch. This year was much different. I called and order 12 yards of mulch to be delivered (last year I ordered 11 and came up short and needed to get a few bags, no big deal, my fault) so this year I thought I would order another yard to make sure my yard was covered. After they dumped the mulch my husband (and neighbors) made a comment that there was no way that was 12 yards. I didn't think much of it and got to spreading. Well low and behold we came up FOUR beds short! Needless to say we are SO disappointed. We called and mentioned this on them and they assured us they we got the right amount but they will make sure it didn't happen again (fishy). They are correct about that as we will never buy mulch from them again. We always referred them to neighbors and family but never again. SO SO disappointed. Just beware when getting mulch delivered! I just hate to be taken advantage...
