Lakeshore Park: A Slice of Paradise

If you're looking for the perfect day out with family, friends, or even your furry companion, look no further than Lakeshore Park! Our recent visit was an absolute delight, and I'm already counting down the days until we can go back.

First off, the adventurous playground is every kid's dream and an excellent excuse for parents to unleash their inner child. Who knew I'd be scaling ropes and zipping down slides again? The playground alone is worth the visit!

The beach is nothing short of spectacular—beautiful, clean, and just begging for sandcastle competitions and splash fights. And when you need a break from the sun, the giant pavilion, complete with porch swings, offers the perfect shady retreat. Swaying gently while watching the waves? Yes, please!

Hungry? The large concession area has you covered with all the snacks and treats you could wish for. I mean, where else can you get a lion drinking fountain? Hydration has never been so majestic.

As for cleanliness, this park is pristine. Not a speck of litter in sight, and the bathrooms looked nice from the outside (didn't venture in, but hey, they looked promising!). And despite our quiet visit, I can totally see this place buzzing with activity on a hot summer's day or during a gorgeous sunset. It's a people magnet, for sure.

Bonus points for being dog-friendly! Our pup had a blast sniffing every blade of grass and trying to make friends with everyone.

In short, Lakeshore Park is a gem. We loved every minute and will definitely be back...

Not exactly what we were expecting. We parked just past the concession stands. There is a rather large drop off just to get from the parking lot down to the shoreline. It’s doable, and I was carrying my infant while my husband held on to our 2 year-old. On the beach, the sand is covered in goose poop and feathers. The water was quite clean and surprisingly warm. My son had a blast on the beach and in the water. There are bathrooms (very dirty), a playground (in full sun with no shade), lifeguard, a pavilion, and a concession stand within a 1-5 minute walk from the beach. Perhaps my standards for a “clean beach” are higher than others, and I did not enjoy having to dodge goose poop or navigate...

Can you give 0 stars. Boat ramp need monitoring. Everyone want to get in and out. There is no sense of direction here. An accident waiting to happen. I will NOT be returning and will be spreading the word on how unorganized this park is. People pull right in and cut people waiting in line. Then use their trucks pretty much as a battering ram to cut the whole line of trucks and trailer waiting. Then wants to argue when his boat which was still past the break wall to get in. 5 other boats had to wait. If you had proper boat dock help this would not happen. Very bad experience very bad service. Should be FREE WITH ALL...

Several large pavilion picnic areas with tables, a great concession stand with plenty of tasty food and treats, nice cold drinks, excellent elephant ears. ( A personal favorite) and friendly service. Additional picnic areas available not under the pavilion area as well, frisbee golf course, walking trails, playground for the children, also has two large duck pond where the children can feed the ducks, and an enclosed peacock pen. Large boat dock area, jet skis, and swimming areas. All of these amenities with a beautiful view of Lake Erie.

We just moved to Ohio and came across this place and loved it here. We had no idea it was so much like an ocean. It was a clean park, had a play structure for children, and was beautiful. We visited on a cold, windy, day and were reminded on home (Oregon Coast) and just fell in love. They already had lights up in preparation for their Christmas thing they do and we plan on going up there for that. We'll definitely go back there to explore more during other parts of the year.
