Amazing! We rode our bicycles to the beach one and bike/hike access is gorgeous and less populated with beach goers. The day we went, the ocean was kind with gentle waves, sunny skies and soft breezes. The next day we drove and be prepared to get there early or spend time looking for parking, a lot of people. Still beautiful, just crowded. Note: The car parking area has lifeguards and no pets are allowed.

Been going for over twenty years, and I just can't stop. It's beautiful, family-friendly, and unique. While things have certainly changed, it still retains a peaceful, friendly atmosphere. I can say that I'll continue to take my family there for many years to come.

Nice beach, especially if you like a little less of a crowd. I love the ocean, so this beach is great for me. Not much to do outside of going in the ocean. The sound side is a good place to kayak with a chance to see some of the horses.

Very nice experience. BUGS ARE INSANE IN SUMMER. We make an appoint to go in spring to avoid the onslaught of mosquitos. At peak season you may have trouble differentiating between the ponies and the mosquitos. Pro tip: look for the wings. Keep in mind that with any place that is reviewed, the experiences portrayed are just one person's opinions, give them a chance to prove to your their integrity, the business could have read reviews and made strides to better themselves due to unflattering reviews. After you visit them, post your experience so others can see if they have improved, gotten worse or stayed the same. In any event,...

The Assateague lighthouse, built in 1867, stands 142 feet high. The brick tower has two 1000 - watt lamps that double flash every five seconds. At its base, the lighthouse is 27 feet in diameter and about 15 feet in diameter at the top. An internal spiral stairway leads up to the top. The lighthouse is located on the Virginia side of Assateague lsland, a windswept barrier island the serves as the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The Assateague lighthouse is an active of...

Yea free parking and beach access but they don't tell you that you have to pay to get to the parking lot to the beach $10 a day or $25 for the week and the very big thing is NO PETS ALLOWED! would of been nice to know before I chose this area to take my vacation and taking my dog that had to stay at the camp site the whole week for all the money this place makes there should be a place for pet owners to take there dogs...
