Would give it zero but not an option. Terrible waste of time. You can get more info online and see furs, tools, weapons etc that represent Lewis's and Clark expedition much better than visit these terrible, replica ameturely staged displays. Beyond disappointed. Couldn't get out of there fast enough! Even the info on each display wasn't telling you anything interesting nor did it give insight to all The events, reasons why they were there, etc. The fort outside was even a joke. Looked like something built within the last 1-2 years by boy scouts...sigh. This museum made the column look incredibly interesting. The ONLY "authentic" & "interesting" thing in this museum was the framed dried leaves & ferns which are the first thing you see as you come in. Don't bother venturing further! Just avoid wasting your time and spend it at Fort Russell instead. There is more history and it's actually a real fort not staged or a pathetic souvenir shop like fort...

Forgive the voice dictation.

Honestly it was way cooler than I ever imagined I didn't know it was there it was quite a surprise that we had when my husband found it the visitor center was ok but it's not the best. but when you walk out of the visitor center and you go to go down to the Fort and walking down the trails and seeing the trees and seeing the Fort and seeing like the kind of camp site that they had and the Spring that they made bring that they made it becomes real that you are walking and touching the places that Louis and Clark , Sakajiwaya and all the rest walk stepped labored and lived and that was real and that was cool and we have traced the entire Lewis and Clark trail across the country and gone to many sites and many parks and this one was real this 1 you felt their spirit this 1 was breathtaking and I'm really surprised at how much it was because it was so unassuming but that you feel their spirit and...

Visiting Fort Clatsop has been on my "bucket list" for many years. As a student of American history and living history interpreter (pre-1840) I was very impressed with how well the reconstructed fort and visitor center present the story of the Corps of Discovery. The seasonal Rangers / Interpreters add a nice touch with their presentations and authentic attire. Their abilities to answer questions about life at Ft. Clatsop during the winter of 1805-06 is a value multiplier for visitors. All of the staff that I encountered (I was there about 4.5 hours) were friendly and helpful -- not what I generally expect from government employees. "Thank you" to all who have made this place what it is and for telling the story of this amazing piece of...

A great place to experience the end of Lewis & Clarks historic journey. The fort is a replica of the winter quarters of the expedition and gives you a taste of the rugged conditions they endured. A small fort with several trails that that take you to the ocean and to the canoe landing area of the expedition. A nice hike along the Natul River to Canoe Landing. You will find an kiosk shelter with information on the Lewis & Clark expedition at the landing with several canoes. The visitor center is open with restricted entry and a fee is charged for entry. There are no events at this time that are being held. A great place to experience history and to hike in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark.

I just have to give this place a little shout out as being totally interesting and worthy of a visit. First, the staff that works here is amazing. They love their location and are so welcoming to share their knowledge of history. While I was there, I was so impressed that they were doing an reenactment of daily life with school children. It represents the best of America when you see this kind of involvement with kids. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful introduction on my first trip to Oregon. The park has all these explanations of the struggles of surviving the journey over winter and preparing for the return.

For those who enjoy history, this stop is for you. The fort is well kept, and the staff provide great information of the fort, the area, and the way of life when fort was active. The groups around the fort are great to explore and there a many hiking trails that allow you to get out with nature. If you have young kids, they will love exploring the area and running on the trails. Also remember to get your junior range packet at the visitor center. There are several activities they will need to complete to get their badge.
