Pros: Big dog park. One side is for the small dogs and other side is for big dogs. Has trash bags and trash cans in the area. There are seating areas inside the dog park. Front fence is very secured. Park has a big trail around the dog park. Every 3 minutes you find like a cabin with place to seat with trash cans. Has a medium parking area. Cons: Doesn’t have water fountain, you need to bring your own water. People go with Pittbulls and don’t leash them even if it’s one of the rules in the park. There are smalls dogs in the big dog area.

They've made a lot of changes since I was last here! The dog park is pleasant - the "big dog" side is larger and more interesting than the "small dog" side (more trees, some landscaping rocks, and some hills etc.), but both are easily accessible and enjoyable. The trail is wide, well maintained, and a loop of about 0.5 miles or so. The trail winds through the disk golf course, so it can get busy with the "golfers" heading between "holes" 🙂

This was a very beautiful, easy hike in Marietta. It’s right next to Life University, and there is a trail from here all the way to Al Burus Park, which is one way to make it a lot longer. Great place for jogging, but you may have to give it a few loops for it to be enough. All in all, a great option for getting a few steps in close to home!

DISC GOLF

Pros: One might assume that with a small footprint and a city rec department focused on designing a course accessible to beginners and casual players, the result wouldn't be something that appeals to everyone, particularly more advanced players. Fortunately for everyone, the code was cracked. When you take the sum of all its parts, the course actually turns out to be pretty good, at least as far as fun goes. I really like it a lot.

The course is wooded, so you can expect the usual tests of control and finesse that come with playing in the trees. Shot shaping and touch can definitely help lower your score and a little luck can go a long way too. One standout feature that no one will complain about is the clean fairways and rough. On most wooded tracks, venturing off the fairway means battling through thick brush and briars, but not here. The city did a fantastic job prepping and maintaining the course.

Surprisingly, for such a small area, there is a nice variety of rolling elevation changes. You can expect both uphill and downhill shots, with fairways that bend left and right, and even a downhill tunnel shot that is sure to give anyone a run for their money. Overall, the mix of hole lengths keeps the course feeling engaging and diverse as you play through.

There are also dual baskets (Prodigy) on half the holes. In a unique and clever design, the holes with two baskets, both short and long placements, are assigned only to the odd-numbered holes. The blue baskets make up what could be considered the 'short layout,' while the white baskets mark the long positions. I think this is one of the better uses of dual baskets I've seen in the area when it comes to separating difficulty and adding variety to the playing experience.

The course has all the trimmings with concrete tees, benches, tee signs, and a kiosk that includes a lost disc box. There are also covered pavilions located at the start and near the center of the course, which provide a place to rest or serve as a central hub during tournaments. I understand permanent bathrooms are in the works, but for now the porta john will have to suffice.

Cons: There's not much to complain about here, given the course's classification. However, players who favor bomber-style layouts or overly generous fairways might find themselves a bit frustrated along the way. You won't hear anyone saying that too many trees were removed on a few fairways. Holes 4, 9, and 17 come to mind, especially when playing to the long baskets.

Those who don't favor wooded courses may find the design to be a tad repetitive with a few similar feeling holes.

Prodigy baskets.

Other Thoughts: The course is located in a clean and safe area. It is very convenient to I-75, just a couple of minutes from the exit, making it a great quick stop for those traveling through Atlanta. There is also a dog park on site which offers added convenience for pet owners. The Cobb Disc Golf Club is active here with leagues and tournaments held regularly. Took my small dog to the park on a cold winter's day. As expected, there were more large dogs and very few small dogs. The park has adjacent small and large dog areas of fairly good size. The surface is grass and dirt. It looks like it could be messy after a rain. The dog areas were very simple with a bench and very few trees. No water was available. There is a gravel parking lot near the dog park and a dirt and rock walking path circles around the area. The park is near the Air force base. One trail had a sign saying that only service dogs were allowed. Will have to visit again but the park did not seem to be nearly as large...

We took our dog for the first time today. I love how big the dog area is and she was having a blast. Unfortunately, I did not realize this dog park’s fence is shorter than the other dog park I usually take her to. I believe it is 5 ft. She jumped the fence and took off (very close to the busy highway). Thank GOD, a man was able to catch her when she ran onto the hiking trail. Please beware if you have an active dog or a dog that can hop fences. This is not your typical 7-8ft dog park fence. Also, the highway is very close so you need to be on high alert while here anyways in case your dog were to get away...
