I am an alumnus of this school and this review is not in violation of guidelines. Life is notorious for its cultish College of Chiropractic. Having invested a lot of money into the grounds, it is impressive in person. However never forget the true purpose-to impress prospective students and hide that the curriculum is a diploma mill for alternative medicine quackery. If you want to see it in person go to vitalsourcelife.wordpress dot com... and look at the rooms where techniques meet: Applied Kinesiology, leg checks (Thompson), and the fake christian "Maximized Living" cult. Several students have died following the extreme teachings of the place (i.e. medical doctors are only good for emergencies, chiropractors prevent disease, regular adjustments are effective at realigning subluxated joints and are needed for good health-all false, see chirotalk.hyperboards dot com "Pseudo-education" for a complete listing). To gauge the quality you have to know what to look for-a poor quality research journal, faculty who don't publish quality research and endorse questionable unproven methods (i.e. Carrick's Functional Neurology), skimpy patient access and a disjointed curriculum that doesn't even let students order the testing needed to confirm and rule out all possible diagnoses. If you read a good book on cult practices you'll see they use classic persuasion techniques including: love bombing, thought stopping, loaded language, etc. Forget the place and chiropractic in general or you will probably regret it (half of all graduates quit chiropractic in five years), experience massive student loan debt you may never pay off and an unfulfilling career as a quack. This is one reason Marty Nemko of U.S. News and World Report named chiropractic an overrated career. Don't let these sharks manipulate you into a foolish career choice. Accreditation doen't mean you are getting a quality degree, just that the program jumped through some hoops and meets minimum standards for chiropractic quack education. Mainstream healthcare rejects the chiropractic diagnostic and treatment approach as ineffective for treating spinal problems because it doesn't work, patients just end up dependent on their weekly adjustments, just ask a good certified orthopedic PT about it. Do you want to be stuck in an outdated field where you have to swim against recognized authorities all the time? You'll starve to death and wish you went into a real field. Again, I can't emphasize this enough: avoid this field...
Read moreThis is for the dietetics program, not chiropractic. Their undergrad programs are a joke. Chiropractic I cannot speak for, except for them losing their accreditation twice while I was there (in 3 years) for students cheating because they were allowed into the university with no difficulty.
Unfortunately, our program had the same professors teaching multiple classes. However, they were not at the proper level of education or certified to do so. We had teachers teaching classes that required a PhD or masters.when they had nothing more than a bachelor's.and successfully to failed good students due to their lack of knowledge and inadequate information. The program itself was constantly turning over employees and there was no consistency. Do not ever go to life university for any reason.
A professor held my grade as I walked across the stage for graduation. They would not release my grade until 2 months after I walked, as I sat in distress as my internship was contingent on this grade. Yet, they let me walk... after two months of emailing the Dean and the President finally, I got my results that I passed. (My program requirements were a "B" or higher to pass) That time frame is ridiculous and it should have never taken that long or that much work to get a grade for a class AFTER graduation. Honestly, and, harshly, they're all stupid and inadequate. They play games in favoritism. I have friends who didn't play the game but can verify that they saw the games played on those who fought back. (Myself included) NEVER go here. It's an...
Read moreIf your child has any disabilities learning or otherwise, this is not a good place for them. Some professors don't respond to student emails for help. Some Advisors that don't help out students. Don't follow thru with what they recommend or plan for student. Compliants go unanswered or addressed. If you question or comment as parent of student you are the problem.. they want parents out the way so students are vulnerable and alone to make decisions they know nothing about, nor is it explained well enough to them.. I asked for chain of command to file further complaints, and guess what I never got responded to. I bet I will get a response to this review, tho. Everything I speak is facts and my truth.. and there is alot more. Follow me or email if you have questions. I'm looking out for parents like me and freshman( new to college life) students. Fyi if you are not getting what is needed for your young freshman student at any college file compliant with U.S dept...
