Audubon Society Attleboro Springs Wildlife Sanctuary was a nice 15-20 minute hike on the Reflection Trail. Very well marked, level ground and peaceful. This location is right near The National Shrine of our Lady of LaSalette. Just behind the Rosary Pond and parking lot. There are several more loops and trails to make the hike longer; also, very well marked trails. I definitely plan to return and try the additional trails.

The Reflection Trail is well done and interesting. Only saw large tadpoles and turtles. If you go on the longer trails be ready for rocks and roots galore. No time to look up around you unless you stop. We went when it was very dry, but if it was a rainy season the place would be mobbed with mosquitoes. Only got one bite. Adjacent is the LaSalette Shrine which is definitely worth a visit, especially at Christmas time.

Beautiful place to come and enjoy wildlife. It’s run by the Audubon Society so it’s particularly geared toward bird enthusiasts. And it delivers. Tip: go first thing in the morning, right before or at sunrise when the birds are the most active. It’s well kept up, boardwalked trails through swampy areas, and a circumference ring trail around the lake. Benches to stop and sit and enjoy.

day 2 (08jun24) sanctuary 4: disturbed topology with drainage swales. alot of invasive plants (e.g. multiflora rose and oriental bittersweet), especially near entrance. good loop trails (i did oak forest and meadow loops) and some unmarked informal trails. surprised to see dog-walkers, tho to be fair i did not see any signs prohibiting it like other MAS properties. eastern blue bird using nest...
