This is an absolute must-see if you like historic, vintage automobiles. These are the luxury cars from before the big Depression days of the 1920s and 30s. These cars cost in the thousands back then and still hold up today. They were durable, built to last, and can operate at our current speeds of our Interstate highways! They are drop-dead gorgeous cars, and the history is amazing.

The museum also has other vintage high-end cars along with a private plane and boat that the wealthy could purchase back then. The hood ornaments alone make an interesting display.

But the other amazing thing about this museum is the fabulous art deco building, which was the original showroom and engineering offices for the cars at that time. The museum has brought the building back to life by taking her back to her glory days. The lights, the paint, and even the flooring are gorgeous! If you don't care about cars but love building architecture, then you must come see this museum.

Not to be forgotten, there is also a muscle car and truck museum just behind the Auburn Cord Duesenburg museum called the National Auto and Truck Museum. You can purchase tickets for both at the ACDM counter.

A very small complaint. We purchased a membership because we would receive a 10% discount in the giftshop, and we knew we would buy something. The man who was involved in our getting the membership was in the Giftshop when we came out hours later. He remarked, "Wow, you're still here!" We joked that we wanted to really embrace our membership! Unfortunately, when he rang up our purchase, he didn't give the 10% discount. When reminded of it, he said, "Well, it's all done now. I could re-enter everything, but there is no guarantee you will receive your refund from the first purchase." We tried to suggest some solutions, and he said, "That's way above my pay grade, and we would have to see if the man in charge is here and can make a decision." Feeling somewhat forced to accept it, we just walked away. Plus, the membership purchase did not include the other museum, so we had to pay again over there. However, this sour note did not ruin the fun had with all the amazing cars and history of the museum and does not deserve to ruin the 5...

We added several hundred miles on our trip just to stop to see this place and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT.

There was an era, not too long ago, where ingenuity reigned, there was no limit to what the mind could imagine, and where class, style, elegance, and detail mattered. All of these things are shown in the vehicles displayed at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum.

As the name suggests, there is plenty to see when it comes to Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg brands. The museum shines in this are and you will not be left disappointed. However, there are over 100 vehicles in the building and the names of some have not been heard of in nearly a century. Stutz. Pierce-Arrow. Ruxton. You will find them here. Buggies? Those are here too. Cars that never made it to market? Your eyes will be amazed at what could have been! There are even some newer vehicles on display that share the same forward thinking design of the cars from back when.

Mixed in between these jaw dropping beuties is a very informative amount of information concerning Indiana and its role in transportation, crime and transportation, and even informative displays on car mechanics.

If all of the information isn't enough, the nostalgia alone is worth the trip. This...
