This is an absolute must-see if you like historic, vintage automobiles. These are the luxury cars from before the big Depression days of the 1920s and 30s. These cars cost in the thousands back then and still hold up today. They were durable, built to last, and can operate at our current speeds of our Interstate highways! They are drop-dead gorgeous cars, and the history is amazing. The museum also has other vintage high-end cars along with a private plane and boat that the wealthy could purchase back then. The hood ornaments alone make an interesting display. But the other amazing thing about this museum is the fabulous art deco building, which was the original showroom and engineering offices for the cars at that time. The museum has brought the building back to life by taking her back to her glory days. The lights, the paint, and even the flooring are gorgeous! If you don't care about cars but love building architecture, then you must come see this museum. Not to be forgotten, there is also a muscle car and truck museum just behind the Auburn Cord Duesenburg museum called the National Auto and Truck Museum. You can purchase tickets for both at the ACDM counter. A very small complaint. We purchased a membership because we would receive a 10% discount in the giftshop, and we knew we would buy something. The man who was involved in our getting the membership was in the Giftshop when we came out hours later. He remarked, "Wow, you're still here!" We joked that we wanted to really embrace our membership! Unfortunately, when he rang up our purchase, he didn't give the 10% discount. When reminded of it, he said, "Well, it's all done now. I could re-enter everything, but there is no guarantee you will receive your refund from the first purchase." We tried to suggest some solutions, and he said, "That's way above my pay grade, and we would have to see if the man in charge is here and can make a decision." Feeling somewhat forced to accept it, we just walked away. Plus, the membership purchase did not include the other museum, so we had to pay again over there. However, this sour note did not ruin the fun had with all the amazing cars and history of the museum and does not deserve to ruin the 5 star rating.

The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is a treasure trove of automotive history, showcasing the rich heritage and innovation of iconic brands. While not Corvette-focused, this museum holds an important place in the world of automobiles and offers a captivating experience for enthusiasts. One surprising aspect of our visit was the vintage bathrooms located upstairs. Stepping inside these perfectly preserved time capsules was like traveling back in time. From the elegant fixtures to the nostalgic decor, it was a delightful and unique addition to our museum exploration. The museum's collection of Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg vehicles is truly breathtaking. Each car represents a bygone era, characterized by exceptional craftsmanship and design. The exhibits delve into the fascinating stories behind these remarkable automobiles, capturing the essence of automotive evolution. Although not Corvette-centric, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum celebrates automotive history as a whole. It's worth mentioning that during our visit, we were excited to learn about the Corvette-related activities happening at the museum. They were running a Corvette giveaway, adding an exciting twist to the experience. Additionally, we had the privilege of admiring a stunning 1954 Corvette showcased in honor of the 70th anniversary of this iconic American sports car. The staff at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum are passionate and knowledgeable, providing valuable insights into the historical significance of the exhibited vehicles. We added several hundred miles on our trip just to stop to see this place and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT. There was an era, not too long ago, where ingenuity reigned, there was no limit to what the mind could imagine, and where class, style, elegance, and detail mattered. All of these things are shown in the vehicles displayed at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. As the name suggests, there is plenty to see when it comes to Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg brands. The museum shines in this are and you will not be left disappointed. However, there are over 100 vehicles in the building and the names of some have not been heard of in nearly a century. Stutz. Pierce-Arrow. Ruxton. You will find them here. Buggies? Those are here too. Cars that never made it to market? Your eyes will be amazed at what could have been! There are even some newer vehicles on display that share the same forward thinking design of the cars from back when. Mixed in between these jaw dropping beuties is a very informative amount of information concerning Indiana and its role in transportation, crime and transportation, and even informative displays on car mechanics. If all of the information isn't enough, the nostalgia alone is worth the trip. This place was great!

My first recollection of the Duesenberg name was the Peter O'Toole movie "The Stunt Man". So when I was on my way to a conference in Columbus and saw a sign for the museum as I passed through Fort Wayne, I decided I'd make it part of my return trip. I was not disappointed with that decision. The building itself is a great example of art deco architecture. The collection of vehicles inside was simply amazing. They had more than Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs, but that was the majority of the collection (of course). For someone who didn't know a lot about the cars beyond seeing one in a movie, I was impressed with some of the technology that went into them. The steered headlights was one example of an "ahead of its time" automotive tech. The museum has a lot of information on the automotive industry in Indiana's past, which I found really interesting since that's not something most people ever heard about. When one thinks of automotive industry it's all about Detroit. If you're into classic, early production cars, you should make this a destination.

This museum is easily one of the best in the nation. Fascinating history and information on the cars that some either don't know much about or lost away in the pages of history for the state of Indiana. This place has been on my bucket list for years and after nearly a decade, I finally came here and was not even the slightest bit disappointed. The staff, volunteers and overall atmosphere was absolutely incredible and I want to give Graham Geiger the hats off for not only taking me around the town of Auburn in his 1935 Auburn 851 Sedan but I got to drive it as well, fulfilling a life long dream of driving a car made after The Great Depression but before World War II. I want to give massive thanks to everyone who made this happen and to everyone who has put their prized possessions on display for car loving folk to read about, enjoy and above all, smile as these beautiful rides age with such timeless designs.

Love that theres still a place preserving the history of cars and even better this is in the wonderful location of Auburn Indiana. A little off the beaten path, yet so close to bigger cities. It’s one of those spots where if you appreciate the finer things in life, you’ll see what real craftsmanship and quality truly are. Automobiles here are of the highest caliber and not only are there prefect Auburn Cord Duesenberg examples there’s also a another onsite museum featuring classic muscle cars and early Trucks. Facilities are clean, staff is friendly and there’s plenty of local dining to choose from. Let’s not forget the building itself! If you love architecture and visualizing what it was like back in its hay day, this building has it going on.
