This locale is an absolute gem! A bit off of the beaten path (if you try to follow Google Maps you will get a pin smack dab in the middle of Highway 104!) Once you DO arrive, it is gorgeous. There are trails with lush greenery and stunning views of The Savannah River, Rae's Creek and the Augusta Canal. Not to be missed are the various aqueduct structures and although the water level was fairly low, we still had a sighting of a waterfall (not as robust as I would have liked) but still beautiful to see. Several of the trails meander through brushy, wooded areas. And as a reminder, that we were visitors within Mother Nature's domain, two fawns bolted across one of the trails we were on, about 50 feet in front of us! And yes, I was keenly checking for the Mom! A great day trip (and the park is free!) for hiking, swimming or bike riding or just soaking up some sun and good vibes! If you are in the area and have the time, add the Aqueduct Park to...

Most of all it's just a great...
Read moreWhile the waterfall is nice and cool and I really appreciated it on a hot day, the fact that I hauled 15 lbs of trash out of there and could have taken at least another 15lbs of trash out shows how disrespectful a large portion of people who go there are. The trashcan is in the parking area which is less than 100 yards away. Also, even if it's not your trash, pick it up so everyone can enjoy it without the waste. It makes me sad seeing just how disgusting people can be to something that is on its own a...
