Very nice place to get some exercise!! The only negative thing is the bathroom is not available because of vandalism and I saw things that were not supposed to be there. Not a place I'd send my Daughter alone. I FEAR NO EVIL FOR THOU ART WITH ME. PSALMS 23 . I came to Augusta with the intention of camping and fishing. I asked someone if I could camp here and they said absolutely no camping allowed!!! Then I found this!! I went back to get the number to report it and waited three hours for a police officer to meet me there and when one finally showed up he never even got out of his car. I didn't even have a bottle of water with me. My clothes were completely soaked with sweat. I called the sheriff's office, the Marshall's office and the mayor's office!!! I couldn't get anyone to help me whatsoever. I finally had someone tell me that I was completely wasting my time and breath!! He said absolutely no one cares about the trash and pollution in the streets and the river until it's time for the master's golf tournament!!! Made me sick to my stomach!!!! I was thinking of making a home here and raising my little boy here and I have about changed my mind. I have been cleaning up garbage instead of going fishing ever since . I don't care to go fishing in a place where the garbage is flowing into the river!!! I have cried like a...

Walk was nice but they still have over 1/2 the trail closed from last years storm with very little information online about it being closed or when it will reopen. As well a a few drug users in a camp near the waterfall and railroad tracks. Also a 50 to 60 year old man(pic attached)in a onesie and large mask with his 2 rocky mountain oysters hanging out the sides Not something I would want kids to see. From what one lady said that the man is out almost every weekend dressed the same and they he tries to talk to younger girls that walk alone or as a couple. The ppl she was with said that they have reported him to the cop that is in the area often but that the cop can't do anything because his hotdog is still covered and he hasn't touched anyone yet that has reported it. Use to be a awesome place to go up until the storms last year then it seems Augusta let the place go using the excuse of repairs. Hopefully they or more ppl will get them to get the place back up to the way it was earlier last...

Not a bad place if you want to go for a long walk by the water. Although the trail could be a little bit better because trucks to drive down it for maintenance but leave ruts in the road so it makes biking a little rough but it is a nice for the half 5 Mile Trail all the way down period once you get down about two miles there is actually a little Park at that end. The scenery is nature oriented and not a bad place if you want to go for a run or walk and not have to worry about cars.

Also what stinks is that sometimes on the trail people do not pick up after their animals. Also there are separate directions you can go run along the canal the other one along the highway and one back two words downtown which is kind of short you can tend to follow the train tracks down but I don't know where...

Drove over from Aiken SC to ride the Canal trail to ride bikes. There is a smaller paved trail when you cross the bridge and go to the right, that paved trail is about 3 miles long. If you go to the left you can follow the canal on a level dirt trail, and that trail is about 10 miles long. Lots of great stops along the way. There is a Mt Bike track, (for experienced riders) along the trail. We parked in this parking lot, and I asked someone biking by, how safe it was. They said is was safe during the day, but at night you should be aware of your surroundings.
