My first and only time visiting was a few weeks ago for their poetry night. The performances were fine. But the host made a point of putting the spotlight on a 30 min late arrival as if it was a business meeting
The red-haired senior woman, clearly wasn't aware we had tried once before to attend. Yet, they canceled last minute wasting our time and gas. But I guess that's okay. She should have appreciated us attending at all. We also noticed when others arrived AFTER us, she said nothing.
They had an intermission halfway through. She didn't specify a return time, but when we come back from break (about 5 mins after it resumed), she talks crap about that too. Mind you, she has a mic and we're sitting in the very back. Once again, another couple returns about 10 mins after us from the same break, again she says NOTHING.
Another thing I didn't like is how my daughter, her GF, and I were looking for the restroom. If you've never been here, you'll quickly realize it's a tucked away location with a hodge podge of things on the land. Along the way to the very back (where we later learned were the restrooms), we came upon a building with doors WIDE OPEN.
My daughter decided to peek inside to see if there was a restroom. Suddenly a very worried looking white man with platinum colored hair ran up to us asking what we were doing. We answered looking for the restroom. So he pointed us to the building in the very back. He was irritated and acted like we should've known where to go. It also felt like he suspected theft or something. He hurried and looked around inside, then locked the door upon exiting.
I also found it odd that before ending the night, the host fussed about everyone not having pieces to share. She insisted everyone bring a piece to perform next time. I've been to SEVERAL poetry open mic nights. NEVER has anyone complained or insisted EVERYONE perform! That's a shy person's nightmare. She's something else lol.
Conclusion, I will NEVER EVER come here again! Very unwelcoming and rude. That was our FIRST and...
Read moreBack to Nature Garden Center is such a diverse establishment. It not only is the place to go for plants, with the greatest prices around, but the Tea House has a great variety of herbal teas, local honey, locally made candles and soaps and a great variety of stones, among other art items. Walking the trails is a peaceful experience. The venue part of B2N is off the charts awesome! Weddings, birthday parties, office parties, anniversary celebrations all come to life in the nature venue, under the pavilion, or even in the bistro. You can make it your own personal space to celebrate any event in your life! I love going to Karaoke, the third Thursday each month. There is even an open mic night the first Thursday of each month. I love to sit next to the creek and take in the sounds of nature. The bistro has vegetarian, vegan, as well as meat offerings on their menu. The owner, David Harden, has planned and worked hard, with all his heart, to bring his dreams to life. Oh yes, we can't forget the animals! The chickens and ducks produce eggs, which are for sale. Daisy May and Suzie Q, the resident pigs, are fun to watch. Suzie Q escapes her pen and runs around picking up acorns. The goats, Asher and Sabera, are fun to watch. Its such a unique place, in the city, and I'm so glad its here! I think everyone should experience the peace and tranquility of this awesome space! You will not be...
Read moreI visited Back to Nature for the 1st time this past Sunday. David was wonderful! He was very kind and knowledgeable about all of his houseplants. He gave me information regarding the origins of the plants, which rooms and amount of sunlight they prefer, humidity and watering needs, and tips for caring for them. His prices are VERY reasonable, I purchased 7 plants; 2 of them I'd never heard of and 3-4 that are hard to find in big box and even other nurseries. Plants are my passion and I will definitely be adding Back to Nature to the...
