We ordered catering from Ummah Market for our nikkah (religious marriage ceremony), and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, Mahira and her team made everything seamless and stress-free.
We visited the store a few times to plan our menu, and each time, they were extremely patient, polite, and accommodating. Mahira and her staff allowed us to sample several items from the food bar, offered thoughtful advice on how to create a balanced and crowd-pleasing spread, and really listened to our needs. Even when we made last-minute changes to the order, they handled everything smoothly without a single issue. Mahira also made herself available by text/call for any questions and concerns we had.
For the event, we chose chicken skewers, beef kofta, roasted vegetables, rice, grape leaves, Turkish ezme, and a few salads and desserts—and everything was absolutely delicious. Ummah Market even surprised us with extra food as a gift, which was a very kind gesture.
Not only was the presentation beautiful, but the flavors were even better. Our guests were raving about how fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned everything was. The order was ready on time, pricing was very reasonable, and the food truly added something special to our day.
Thank you so much to Mahira and the entire team at Ummah Market for helping make our celebration so memorable! We will definitely be back for...
Read moreWow. I recently had a really strange experience at this grocery store, something I haven't encountered in years. A while back, I accidentally picked up the wrong type of Turkish mineral water from Ummah. So, last weekend, while doing some other shopping, I decided to return it. I had the receipt, and the 6-bottle pack was still in its original plastic bag. Although I bought it two months ago, the mineral water doesn't expire until next year.
To my surprise, the cashier refused to accept the return! She even called someone who was supposedly a manager, spoke with them for about 2-3 minutes, and then told me, "My manager does not accept it!" What is going on with this place? I've never experienced anything like this before. Are they in such a dire financial situation that they can't process a return for a 6-pack of mineral water, especially when I was there to buy other groceries? Such a bizarre experience.
Other than that though this place has a great Turkish pide/lahmacun vs. Economic and great quality, and lots of good middle...
Read moreIt's always great to see another halal market in the area, and what I really loved about Ummah Market is that they're supermarket style with ready-to-eat foods similar to big chains like Whole Foods. They had fresh baked goods, a small salad bar, warm soups, a bakery, readymade halal food like chicken and fried rice, as well pre-marinated meats. While it looks like they're still in the process of adding more to these sections, I think this is a huge asset towards working or busy adults, who can grab a quick hot meal or something they can pop right on the stove right after work. They also had the usual staples found at most halal markets, such as frozen foods, Middle Eastern and South Asian spices and teas, and more. We tried the spinach and feta and kusbasi pide, which we're both warm and tastes good. I hope this store does well InshaAllah! I recommend everyone...
