I grew up here in Bainbridge, iron City and Pelham. They've expanded the boat basin & changed Chaney griffin too. When I was younger it wasn't like this honestly. What I miss, & what's changed: miss: the black& orange train that used to be by the animals & 1 mile boardwalk, people going swimming, & getting to swing at the playground after dark. I'm glad they've put more lighting that's an improvement, upgraded the campgrounds adding a playground that's nice, they've added to the walking trail than we used to have (used to be a lot shorter, now it goes from one park to the other & all the way around finally)) My biggest disappointment & what I hate (which I just discovered sadly) the playground with the swings I went to at night... Now have open to close timeframe.... Wth? That's messed up. Getting on the swings at night, listening to music with no people, peace and quiet was my refuge, my peace of...

I love the improvements they have done over the years. Absolutely love the walking trails. My son loves the animals and the playground. Very nice place to have a picnic and watch him play. Love watching the boaters. I want to fish every time I get there lol would love to see more docks around the circle so ppl could walk out and feed the fish or geese out on the water. The long walking dock where the trains used to be were, was not open to the public. Definitely sad about that. The view of the river at the end of the dock was beautiful. The alligators were feeding their. The water had come inside the area where the goats were one day and as we were walking back toward the entrance of the trail, we saw one huge gator grab a baby goat so quick the baby goat and us never saw it coming until it was to late. That's when it was so time to go and we got moving very quickly. We love and...

A wonderful escape! I missed it! I'm so glad I was able to go back to visit after all these years! So much has changed, but made it better! Camping, a bigger walking trail, the scenery is sculpted beautifully! So tranquil! Dog friendly (leashed). Family friendly, obviously. There are campgrounds now! Almost all of the old playground equipment is there from back when I was little! I had a blast! The "beach" area is there but I'm including a pic with a good sized alligator near there. It's not advisable. Go enjoy it! Highly...

A great experience at the River festival this year here at Earle May Boat Basin park. Lots of food vendors that had excellent food (especially the taco truck). Great entertainment from A Few Miles South band. Other vendors were also onsite as well as festival rides available for the kids that purchased an armband. Arts and craft vendors were also present for the festival. We love going to this park for festivals and also to see the many Christmas lights they put up at Christmas each year. A really fun place to take the kids.
