We went to see the boat races. We thought the races were to be held at the state park and lake. There wasn't clarity on the website about that and it was our first time attending either place. We were under the impression that a playground and petting zoo and swimming area were part of the amenities of the race atmosphere at the park and lake. Had it been more toddler friendly, I myself would've had a better time. There was one vendor run slide for older kids and then a bounce house that cost me $7 and we kept having to wait for the older kids to get off before I could let my baby get on. I spent the majority of the time chasing my baby around while my husband and older daughter watched the race. My husband could tell I was miserable and had mercy on me and we left. If we had known it wasnt going to be where the website said with all the extra activities and that it wasnt going to be toddler friendly, we could've prepared for that and asked the grandparents to babysit. It was mostly adult oriented and would've been more enjoyable had it just been my...

Had an okay time. Seems like a normal park. There is an emu and a donkey at the park. Pretty neat and photogenic, however a family who I suspect can’t read came over and started feeding the donkey. Gave it lots of stale bread and old crackers hope the donkey doesn’t get colicky or is on a special feed. That could spell trouble. Not just speaking solely on the health of the donkey but practicing safety should be considered. Donkeys can kill people. They have been documented viciously attacking. It could grab your baby’s arm, rip it from you and throw it to the ground be trampling it.

For those who can read we know it says “DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS BY HAND”. Maybe there should be an audio playback so those less fortunate can also understand and follow simple rules...

My kids love playing at the old boat basin park. They actually prefer it over the new park that's further down the river walk. The only problem is that the old playground jungle gymn is now missing two slides and really needs repairs or replacing altogether. We hope someday they'll fix or replace it just as long as it's not removed and then not replaced at all. Also, we miss having a restroom by the...

Very nice park... well kept. Has paved nature trail, many boat ramps and docks, small boat basin on the Flint river. Wonderful sports complex for baseball, football, soccer, and tennis. Ample parking. And an entertainment open air stage. There is also some camping available.

We went for the 4th of july event. Very nice, food/drink vendors, very well organized just wish they had an area with a bathroom because my kids are not fans of porta-potties
