This place is pretty awesome too bad it's next to a place where they buried nuclear waste underground

I'm not joking look it up if you're in the parking lot walk straight and take a left past the weird little gate thing that's buried in the ground and you'll come up on a retention pond near a nice little concrete slab (cap) with a shed on top of it inside there you'll find the green ooze that made the Ninja turtles

Unfortunately the nuclear waste is slowly moving towards the bay but it's going to take something like 1.5 million years to get there based on the slope and the gradient of the land..

I really like the towers I think they do a really great job keeping up the park

But they should tell a little bit more about the nuclear waste part though

because it's crazy that we have something like that in our backyard right next to our Bay and our water areas

PDF file that is widely available on the internet.. I left some photos in case you don't feel like looking it up you can...

This is a very popular and pleasant trail leading first through oak and pine forests then to the cattail ringed Tobico Marsh. The trail across the causeway leads to the bike trail that extends into Bay City. Two observation towers give nice views of the forest canopy and the marsh proper. Two viewing platforms on the causeway need repair work. There is usually lots of bird activity along all parts of the trail. Access to parking requires a state of Michigan...

What an absolutely gorgeous little place. Even with 5-8 cars at the trailhead, the trail was relatively empty. Well kept trail with bathrooms available. The observation platforms were the cutest little things. Easy walk with decent privacy that offers solitude from the cities and towns moments away. Fall colors here are spectacular. All of the folks we met were so kind and cordial, and all of the dogs were so well behaved and managed. People are responsible...

Great place right next to the Bay City State Park to take a walk, hike, or bike. I have been walking/biking here for decades, as a young child and now an adult. It is most peaceful in the morning 🌅, and during the Fall time 🍁. I highly recommend this place, and every time you visit you will encounter some different type of wildlife.
