Fantastic boardwalk
We stopped here on our way from Acadia National Park to Presque Isle airport on a whim - but found the forest to be a surprise hit! It sparked my interest owing to its welsh name (Bangor, of course, being first and foremost a place in Wales) and mention of a boardwalk. It’s a brief dirt track to the boardwalk and you then get to walk through two unique environments - all without wetting your feet! In the first, the boardwalk may float depending on the water level - providing the opportunity to bounce up and down and make waves in the marsh. Such fun! The lettered trails (ABC etc) are incredible to walk through when it hasn't rained much. Even when it has there are some spots that hold water but are easy to hop across. There are some roots and stumps from old trees that you need to watch out for as well!
Then there are named trails that run all through the forest. It's a huge playground to see some wildlife and just be out enjoying the weather. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you...
