Maine’s Beet Salad: A Comfort for Seafood-Lovers
My trip to Maine didn’t just give me “life photos”—it also introduced me to the best beet salad I’ve ever had! 🥗 The beet chunks were sweet, refreshing, and perfectly crisp-tender, paired with rich, creamy, and soft goat cheese. It was so moist and refreshing, totally cutting through the heaviness of all the seafood and fries I’d been eating. My stomach felt instantly soothed—total comfort food in salad form! Maine is famous for its lobsters, and for good reason 🦞! The chilled lobster meat in lobster rolls is tender, bouncy, and sweet, while the lobster meat in chowders is soft, savory, and packed with flavor. Both were absolutely delicious—you can’t leave Maine without trying them. And don’t even get me started on Maine’s oysters 🦪! They’re incredibly fresh, with zero fishy aftertaste. Just slurp them down, and they go down smooth—pure ocean goodness. Besides lobsters and oysters, New England Clam Chowder is another safe (and amazing) pick, and white fish like Atlantic Haddock is tender and full of delicate flavor too. Compared to other cities, Portland has the best food prices in Maine 💰! The restaurants we tried in small towns along the way—like Bar Harbor and Bangor—were way less affordable than the spots by Portland’s waterfront. Great food that doesn’t break the bank? Total win! Beyond seafood, Maine is also a haven for berry lovers, thanks to its abundant blueberries and wild berries 🫐! Think blueberry soda, blueberry ice cream, blueberry beer, and wild berry honey—every bite and sip is a burst of berry sweetness. Before we left Maine, we even made a special trip to Portland’s waterfront, just to enjoy one last scoop of creamy, sweet blueberry ice cream. The perfect way to end the trip! #AllInMyself #Travel #Maine #Acadia #Foodie #HappyToRecommend
