The cabin was beautiful and quite comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful. Off season, for one night (2 separate discounts were figured in and change frequently, I was told) $137. That's for 2 bedrooms, 2 adults and 1 child. You can rent cots for $10 additional. The road to drive there is paved, but quite narrow and a steep grade. We rented because I had never been here and I wanted to hike a bit. I will come back to hike the other trails (the one we did was well marked and maintained), but I can't imagine the lake makes camping or staying in a cabin here anything out of the ordinary. The campsites all appeared to be quite close to one another and without any privacy at all, though they were very close to the water. I'm sure there are some who love this location, it's just not my cup of tea. Pictured is cabin 6, the last one in the string. Green arrow points to outside firepit. There is also an outside grill and a back porch for the view. All...

They have a host who wasn't there at all. We had two tent's on our lot. One for adults and one for the kid's. Told us that night we had to many vehicle's parked on our site. When we checked in they knew how many we had and never said anything about it. And we were awaken by a park ranger telling us we had to many tent's on our lot and told us we had to rent another lot so we did. We had to move our tent's across the road to two other lot's side by side. Cost us 81.00 dollars more because we didn't want the kid's around the corner on a lot by themselves. It was us and our son and daughter in law and grandkids. Worst experience ever. When we went down to the office to give them our information they told us all we had to do was get the second tent approved. The ranger who stopped to tell us about the parking never said anything about the tent's. So we will never go back there again. For sure going some other place next time. Lack of communication...

The cabins are clean and spacious, however it is difficult to find stay information on their website (and information I did find was from fall 2022). We brought our dog and while making the reservation, there was nothing noted on cabins that were specifically pet friendly. We accidently reserved a cabin that was not pet friendly, but thankfully the staff was flexible since we only learned that our cabin was not pet friendly 24 hours prior to our stay.

Additionally, the weekend that we visited (mid August), the pool was closed and again - no notification until we arrived on site. This was part of the attraction of Beech Fork for us, and we were disappointed to have to drive roughly 30 min each way to access to swimming.

Had we not had issues with the dog and the pool, I think the price would have been worth it. But as it was, the stay was more expensive than I think it...

Rented Cabin #6 at Beech Fork for a couple nights. Fantastic cabin, really loved the State Park. Family played disc golf. Cabin has handicap accessible features, but the bathroom has some shortcomings. It has only a handheld shower and no way to raise nozzle for someone who is standing. Nozzle only sprays toward the wall. Needs a complete redo to be honest. But that didn't affect our enjoyment of the cabin. This cabin is 2 bedrooms but it's so spacious you can have a crowd and not be stepping on each other. Nice deck also. No view of the lake however. Wifi works fine, which is a plus for those of us who have to work. We received a pool pass with the cabin rental, so that was nice (didn't use it). Be sure to pack in whatever food, drinks, other things you'll need. The park has a very small camp store with limited selection, and nearest stores are 20-30 minutes out.

Beech Fork campground is similar to the thousands of other campgrounds in the U.S. There are several levels of camping from tent to camper and even some cabins. Our stay was short but we did manage to see a lot. The road leading in and out of the campground is exciting! It’s narrow and has a lot of curves including a couple switchbacks. Evidence of people not paying attention is all over the place in the form of broken safety rails. There is a pool but you have to pay to use it. They offer a senior discount as does the campground. The campsites are nice and range from just electric to full hookups including sewer. Fire pits and picnic tables are at every site. We stayed on the Moxley branch by the water. We would go back.
