Recently refreshed, Thompson Park offers something for everyone. Playground and splash park for the kids. Dog walk area for four-legged friends. Covered dining areas for groups and parties. Lots of locals and out-of-towners use the RV park and it becomes quite a fun place to hang out on the weekends. Be sure to check it out if coming through the area. Update: they have added a Disc Golf course and a new water/splash zone. Nearby attractions are Cumberland Falls, Cumberland Gap, Walker Park (1st House in Kentucky), and birthplace of KFC in Corbin, KY. Also, enjoy shopping and dining in downtown Barbourville, a 5-10 minute walk from the park.

This place is amazing and very clean. I had an awesome dog park. park for kids has excellent playground with pretty cool stuff including a zip line! RV area is nice with a boat ramp and nice rock area to hang out at beside the river. Camp hosts are very nice and attentive to any needs you may have.

We went here for a family gathering, it was really nice. They had a really nice playground, handicap friendly, water park and a nice picnic area. We didn't camp here but it did seem nice for camping as well.

Needs more benches in shades areas on the playground and outdoor bathrooms porta pottys in summer is a nooooo!! Campground is clean and well maintained grills and covered pavilions are nice river access! Soccer field with goals ! Not sure what it's called but saw people playing frisbee in a chain thing first time I ever saw that and a kids splash pad was cute could be bigger but cute! Playground Zipline was cute equipment was...

I am very impressed that they have set up new playground equipment for the kids. I hope that they repair the outdoor workout equipment. Also, some more cleaning by the river needs to be done due to flooding a couple of months ago. Lots of tires and mild pollution on the banks. I will change this to a 5 star if they clean up.
