
What a lovely walk in our neighborhood, miles of trails through the woods with plenty of sites of interest along the way. Our favorite was a large flat slab of meltwater granite, reminding us of the ancient geological history unique to the cape. Secret hollows of ephemeral pools and lots of native flora like princess pine, rhododendron, Holly, Birch trees, soft pines, white oaks and Maple trees and if you keep a watchful eye you might spy an endangered Lady slippers - one of the few native orchids found on the easy coast. Trails are easy to walk, well marked, and mild hills - just keep an ear out for local mountain bikers that race through these trails and signs warning you of hunting areas, wear bright reflective clothing and sing aloud to warn hunters of your presence and you should...
