Lake Bastrop — Attraction in Bastrop

Our families absolute favorite swimming spot. Every time I go I find something new that I didn't know was there before. There is swings, volleyball net, barbecue pits, a boat dock, a camping area, a fishing area, and even a place to rent canoes! I saw a sign that said no pets allowed on the Sandy Beach part. There is a nice big public bathroom for changing and showering off as well. Tons of trees and lots of nice shade area. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Tons of parking. The park rangers or staff are very helpful and kind, especially in an emergency situation. When my daughter had an emergency and I had to call 911 the lady who was working at the time was extremely helpful and explained to 911 exactly where we were and helped flag them down for us. Had site by cove,some algae,fishing pier by me (1of3)very shallow.still have to try out the others shop people very friendly,and let change sites ,extend stay at another for a day.scheduled at another park after this lots of goodies at store.outside water,ice machine. machine(24hour).fellow campers friendly inside loop sites look nice.canoe,kayak rentals.all employees helpful,friendly clean showers,restrooms .no hot food,lots of snacks.pictures,day use area,volley ball , miniature golf ,tether ball ,swings ,fishing pier ,group dining area super large smoking grill ,wide open area.if you can and alone don't get a buddy site,one will be a very cramped...

Great place to camp, grill, picnic, fish, boat, and hike & bike. I mountain bike the trails, North shore to south shore and back. About 9 miles, longer if you take side trail loops. Maps available at the entrances. Mostly green trails with some blue intermittent stretches. Watch for rocks, sugar sand and pine needles. Lots of wild life all around. Even has cabin rentals at South shore. Can get a little crowded on weekends and holidays. New 9 hole miniature golf course at South shore. Nice restrooms at both North Shore and South Shore. I...
