Lake Murray Resort and Marina — Attraction in Batesburg-Leesville

I have tried to enjoy this place but the outside restaurant is ridiculous. We arrived at just befor 3 pm on a Sunday fresh off the lake. We are members and also pay 1800 per year to dock our boat there. We were just eating a late lunch. Only one other table seated when we arrived 15 minutes after another small group came in and sat down. About 5 minutes later the waitress standing at the bar went over to get there drink order. I then waived her to our table to ask if we could get some service (had been there about 20 minutes at this point...not kidding). She informed us that she was only one person. I said ok what about one of the other waitresses walking around near the stage. She informed me they were setting up for a function. I ask her then if we should just go somewhere else and she said she was going to get some help. I swear there were only 3 tables occupied at this point and I could see 3 waitresses walking around doing very little if anything. Finally Hannah came over from the other restaurant and got us some drinks and took our order. I just chalked it up to bad timing and decided not to complain and just enjoy our day. Unfortunately it took over half an hour to get the first of our food. We had 8 people in our party. After 30 minutes or so she brought out food for 2 of us then after another 6 or 7 minutes for 2 more of us then the table behind us got 1 of there meals then about about 6 or 7 more minutes we got 1 more of ours then a new table got 1 of there’s then a few more minutes later Hannah came out to apologize that it was taking so long for hamburgers then about 5 minutes later we finally got the last of our meals. What kind of place is this? Serious management problems and huge organizational issues. We dropped our membership a couple of years ago due to very poor service and it seems that this just will never change. The prices are way to high for average food and poor service. When the last of us were done with our meals our waitress Hannah was gone and I had to finally walk up to the bar were no one was and walk in back to look for someone to give me my final bill. They wanted to get Hannah but I told them no just give me my bill as we had been there at least 90 minutes and I was ready to leave and wasn’t waiting any longer. $120 bill to be treated so bad. I can’t believe I left a 20 tip but I couldn’t make my self stiff someone. I know the managers that read this will not take any of this serious but it doesn’t matter for every complaint you get somebody so upset to make there are 10 more that didn’t bother even though they were treated the same. This has been one of the WORST customer service experiences i have ever had. I was looking here to host my dinner rehearsal for my wedding and my wedding party along with out of town family were going to stay in the houses for rent. We started to try and come in contact with this venue in July 2016. We had found out they were under new management and finally met with the General Manager, George, in October. He toured us around, gave us some pricing but he didn't know everything for sure yet so he was going to get back with us on the rest. He never contacted us, we had to call him, only to inform us that he still didn't know and for us to wait on the new event planner to email us. She finally emailed us with a quote totally different than what George had informed us of. So after our reply we were told she was going to talk with George and get back to us. Also, any contact was weeks apart b/c they were never quick to "get back to us". Not to mention in October we told George we would take all 7 houses he had remaining for the weekend and we were told now that there were only 4 left. Upset again, he told us they had an online booking service he wasn't aware of and they got booked. So we settled with the four they had remaining. In January we got our proposal and we were all excited, it was a great deal! In February we got our final proposal with deposits and when everything was due. With the money all ready to make our deposit my mother in law made a final call on Tuesday 2/7/17 to go over everything and make sure. Of course, it was not. We were informed that in the proposal when they say four cottages that only means per side!? No one informed us of this or clarified this. We had 48 people coming to stay! If we showed up in August like planned we would of been screwed. My mother in law ended the phone call with Kristine on Tuesday in tears with Kristine telling us she would get back to us. Well here it is Sunday and we have not heard a single thing. Needless to stay they do not know how to run a business here, or at least the event portion. They have ruined the dinner rehearsal for my wedding and causing more stress during this time. I will never set foot on this property again and I will be sure to tell anyone who is looking here for any kind of event or joining (which btw we had to pay $100 for a year to have the rehersal) about my horror story with this place. A horrid nightmare and stain on what has always been a quiet and comfortable community. This place moved into the area and destroyed the ambiance of a peaceful lake cove. They have no problem blaring music late into the night. They see no problem disturbing the residence that have lived there for years, some since before the previous quieter Spinner's Marina. Residents in the area have tried to communicate their concern about the disturbance to no avail. The residents have even called the cops numerous times about disturbances caused by the establishment and their drunken unruly patrons. However, approaching the police seemed to do very little and the residents that expressed their concern to police were told to deal with it. Problems in the neighborhood caused by this haven of idiocy include an incident where a few of the patrons walked off from the establishment and broke into the enclosed deck/porch/patio area of a nearby home and left a few nearly finished bottles of alcohol behind from their after-party. It is an eyesore on the community and deserves to be treated as an resident in the area blaring music at 10:30 pm, with swift action from the Saluda police. Though that would not be beneficial to the cops as there would be little incentive for the cops to stay out of the establishments affairs if the business...
