Jefferson Highway Park — Attraction in Baton Rouge

I love BREC Parks! The facilities are always kept really nice for functions. I appreciate that. However, I gave only 2 stars because I am in a wheelchair and majority of the BREC Parks that I have visited within the last 12 years have handicap accessible stalls for people who are wheelchair bound. Nor do they have stalls with handicap bars for people with balance issues. When I first encountered this, yes, it was a huge inconvenience, but since I didn't go to these facilities often, at that time, I didn't dwell on it. Since that visit, I have been to functions at BREC facilities quite often and as the years have gone by there has been no improvements made to recitify this. Who do I need to talk to to implement some sort of change for this because I am sure I am not the only one that struggles with this oversight or disregard for...

This is a very nice and neatly kept facility nestled near surrounding apartments, not far from the Jefferson Highway, Essen Lane junction. There's a basketball court, sanded volleyball area, and a top-notch tennis court. There are apparently party rooms, office areas,, and a main office in which patrons may rent or reserve the various rooms. This park is wonderful. It appeals to all, the hardcore tennis players, the up and coming volleyball players, the die hard basketball players and the kid inside of of us.
