Wonderful trail to walk solo, with friends and family and dogs. It equals a couple of miles, I believe. Couple trial options to walk. Easy to find, close to town. 2 parking lots. Bathrooms. Water fountain available. Doggie poop bags, trash bins, and a sign in sheet. You don't have to sign in tho, it is just fun to do. The park encourages you to let your pup explore, but please clean up after them. It is very well maintained by the pioneer museum and its volunteers. The man that is the park host was friendly when he moved in but now there for 3+ years, he has made quite the settlement there with his rv, gazebo, firepit, and multiple vehicles. Making it feel fairly uncomfortable as if you're invading his space rather than being at a public park. But he is just a host. That is not his personal property. He seems to judge everyone coming in, is rude to all, Condescending, looking for conflict and making it seem like was begged to maintain the park in such a rude manner. This is not the case. I called and let the museum know he is doing this and the way he is going about being a park host. They were aware, as they have had more complaints, and are not okay with it and let me know he should not be handling things in this way. If you are looking to enjoy the sunset beware, he may try to lock you in. And he is NOT supposed to. If he sees cars parked prior to sunset, he is supposed to go find you on a golf cart and let you know he is getting ready to lock up. Then he is to WAIT for all cars to leave before locking the gate. Please call the museum and conplain if he does this to you. Or even non emergency to call in harassment. As he knows he not supposed to do this and continues to do so. Not only is he causing conflict for the park guests but he has made it difficult for the community to use the location as lots of kids and the bus garage use the public location as a pickup/drop off. He claimed the bus caused damage to the parking lot for speeding through, Which im not saying isnt true, but it is a public park, private land, yes, but public park, so all should be welcome to use as well all pay our fair share of taxes to support it. And im sure talking to the garage bout their drivers would be an easy fix. There ARE many signs around, but none posted LARGE enough that read that the park has hours. Which are dawn to dusk. Remember the hours change with the time of the year. In winter, it could be closer to 6pm, whereas in summer it could be closer to 9pm. Beware, this man will try to lock the gate up prior to dusk. (Be sure to say something this behavior needs to stop) Other than the park host, this is a wonderful location to visit. Lots of Tillamook county native nature to enjoy. Along the path, there are plenty of informative signs that give you spchels on history, sponsors, and memorials. Benches to sit and enjoynor take a rest all along the way. Some picnic tables even to sit and eat. Bird watching Station to rest and enjoy at the end of the trail. And the bay, especially at low tide, is nice wonder around and look at. There is plenty of space...

This reserve is breathtakingly beautiful and the fauna is spectacular. However, the county museum has turned this peace of heaven to a piggy bank. Every 50 feet is a small bench with plaque honoring a departed loved one from a grieving family. Some of the writings are quite sad when you read them specially the ones honoring small children. They have my sympathy but how many benches does a park need? instead of observing the nature I kept finding myself reading these sad memorials. I’m serious every 50 feet through the entire trail.

I wish the museum would have accepted their donations instead of littering the reserve with these benches ( no body sat on them). Taking care of a beautiful breathtaking reserve is not the same as running the museum. I’m sad for every single family who donated the benches in honor of a son, father, grandfather, etc, but you shouldn’t have so many in a natural setting. It’s not a cemetery. . Even some of the bridges had names of family trusts and some private companies.

To the County museum park,

Please take care of this reserve and remove all the man made materials out of it. Raising funds can be done without littering the park. This eden deserves...

I used to come here 2-3 days a week in the summer to walk my dogs on the trails and occasionally stop in at other various times. Today I pulled in so that I could safely answer some messages, with no intention of staying more than 10 minutes and the people in the RV came out and started asking me questions, told me if I wasn’t hiking that I needed to leave. They’re too busy for people to be pulling in and using the area like a rest stop, said it was privately owned. I actually apologized, said I didn’t realize that and that I would leave, yet the man that came out kept carrying on being condescending and repeating himself and trying to keep his opportunity to scold me going even after I said I would leave and had apologized. Honestly doubt I will bother to bring my dogs here anymore. If anyone desperately needs to use the restroom - better hold it. The RV Kilchis Point Reserve king will scold...

Beautiful walk through lush green forest. The trails are wide easy to walk, no roots or mud. There are benches up and down both trails and multiple bridges going over small creeks. There are two trails to take when you start out and a map shows distance and description of each when you get to the fork. Keep in mind this is an off leash dog area so if you dog isn't friendly I would keep him/her leashed to avoid trouble with other dogs. The trail is always beautiful no matter the time day, however the sunset on the bay can be especially incredible. It takes roughly 30 minutes to walk to the end and 30 back depending on which trail you choose. If you happen to catch the sunset on a low tide in the middle of summer you should be in for a treat.

This is a hidden gem of a park. It is tucked away off Warren st, with at least parking for 20. The first boy of the path is paving-stone lined, while the rest is packed peat and bark. It is an off leash park, so long as the pups are under voice control and you can keep them from chasing the wildlife. We saw bunnies, birds, squirrels, and newts on our walks. The trail ends at the bay, but not a beach - this is more mud than sand. There is a nice covered pavilion at the end, too, which was useful when we got caught in a shower.
